The men's team table tennis event at the 2011 Summer Universiade was held from August 13 to August 16 at the Shenzhen Bay Sport Center Gym in Shenzhen, China. The teams played in pools in a round robin preliminary round, and the top teams from each pool advanced to the playoffs.

In an organized sports league, a typical season is the portion of one year in which regulated games of the sport are in session: for example, in Major League Baseball the season lasts approximately from the last week of March to the last week of September. The top men's team and the top two women's teams qualified for the 2020 World Men's Curling Championship and 2020 World Women's Curling Championship respectively. The next two placed teams of each gender qualified for the World Qualification Event, a chance to qualify for the World Curling Championships.
