Tadgh McElroy (born 16 June 1997) is an Irish rugby union player. As of November 2023, he was playing with Connacht Rugby. [1] His preferred position is hooker. [2]

Career

McElroy originally came through Connacht academy, before joining Saracens in 2017. [3] His move to Saracens, saw him miss out on the 2017 U20 World Cup, and he remained with the club until 2019 before returning to Ireland, while spending a spell at Bedford Blues. [4] McElroy returned to England in 2021, taking in spells at Bristol Bears, Ealing Trailfinders and London Irish, before joining Leinster on a short-term deal in October 2022. [5] He moved back to Connacht Rugby at the beginning of the 2023/2024 season.[ citation needed ]

Having reached the semi-finals of the Gallagher Premiership finals Heenan both captained and played number 8 on a number of occasions. Heenan was integral in the Bears first European trophy with Challenge Cup victory over Toulon.

Dave Heffernan is a rugby union player from Ireland. As of 2024, he plays for Irish provincial side Connacht in the Pro14. Heffernan started his career playing as a flanker, before moving to the position of hooker. He plays his club rugby for Buccaneers. Heffernan has represented the Ireland U20 team.

Niyi Adeolokun is an Irish rugby union player. He primarily plays as a winger. Currently unattached he most recently played for Bristol Bears & previously for Connacht. Adeolokun joined Connacht in 2014 from Trinity College. During his time with Dublin University, Adeolokun also played rugby sevens for the club.

The 2022–23 season was Ulster Rugby's 29th season since the advent of professionalism in rugby union. They competed in the United Rugby Championship, finishing second in the league table and going out in the quarter-finals, and the European Rugby Champions Cup going out in the round of 16. It was Dan McFarland's fifth season as head coach. Scrum-half John Cooney was leading scorer with 154 points. Hooker Tom Stewart was leading try scorer with 17, and won the URC Top Try Scorer and Next-Gen Player of the Season awards.
