Tajudeen Yusuf popularly known as "TeeJay" (born on 25 August 1968) is a Nigerian politician from the Peoples Democratic Party. [1] [2] He represents Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu constituency in the House of Representatives of Nigeria,a post he was elected to in 2011. [3] [4] He is a former chairman,House Committee on Capital Market and Institutions. [5]
Hon. TeeJay attended the popular St. Augustine's College Kabba,where he obtained his West African School Certificate/GCE in 1987. In 1997,he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from the University of Jos,Plateau State. [6]
In 2011,Honourable TeeJay ran for the Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency seat in Nigeria's 7th National Assembly and won. In 2015,and 2019,he was re-elected to the same position. Between 2015 and 2019,he served as the Chairman of the House Committee on Capital Market &Institutions,while also serving as a member on the following Committees:Information Communication Technology Committee;Finance Committee;Ports,Harbours &Waterways;Information &National Orientation Committee;Sport Committee;House Committee on FERMA;the House Public Accounts Committee;and the House Committee on Human Rights. Between 2011 and 2015,Hon. TeeJay served as the Deputy Chairperson of the House Committee on Information Communication Technology. [7] [2] [1]

Kogi State is a state in the North Central region of Nigeria,bordered to the west by the states of Ekiti and Kwara,to the north by the Federal Capital Territory,to the northeast by Nasarawa State,to the northwest by Niger State,to the southwest by the Edo and Ondo states,to the southeast by the states of Anambra and Enugu,and to the east by Benue State. It is the only state in Nigeria to border ten other states. Named for the Hausa word for river (Kogi). Kogi State was formed from parts of Benue State,Niger State,and Kwara State on 27 August 1991. The state is nicknamed the "Confluence State" due to the fact that the confluence of the River Niger and the River Benue occurs next to its capital,Lokoja.

The Okun people are a Yoruba speaking people found majorly in Kogi,but with settlements in Kwara,Ekiti,and Ondo states of Nigeria. Their dialects are generally classified in the Northeast Yoruba language (NEY) grouping. They are collectively called "Okun",which in Okun dialects could mean "Sorry","Well-done",or as an all-encompassing greeting. Similarly,this form of greeting is also found among the Ekiti and Igbomina groups of Yoruba people. It is also a mode of greeting among the Ijesa people of southwestern Nigeria.

The creation of Ijumu Division as an administrative headquarters. was a burning desire for chief Ajayi,a move he started from 1960,unable to achieve this while in Government due to the unfortunate coup of 1966,Chief Ajayi pursued this vision with equally passionate illustrious sons of Ijumu until the Local Government was created.

The 2023 Kogi State gubernatorial election was held on 11 November 2023 to elect the Governor of Kogi State. Incumbent APC Governor Yahaya Bello was term-limited and could not seek re-election to a third term in office. The primaries were scheduled for between 27 March and 17 April 2022.

Primaries were held between 4 April and 9 June 2022.
The 2023 Nigerian presidential election in Kogi State will be held on 25 February 2023 as part of the nationwide 2023 Nigerian presidential election to elect the president and vice president of Nigeria. Other federal elections,including elections to the House of Representatives and the Senate,will also be held on the same date while state elections will be held two weeks afterward on 11 March.
