A homeowner association, or a homeowner community, is a private association-like entity in the United States, Canada, The Philippines and certain other countries often formed either ipso jure in a building with multiple owner-occupancies, or by a real estate developer for the purpose of marketing, managing, and selling homes and lots in a residential subdivision. The developer will typically transfer control of the association to the homeowners after selling a predetermined number of lots.
A handyman, also known as a fixer, handyperson or handyworker, maintenance worker, repair worker, or repair technician, is a person who is skilled at a wide range of repairs, typically for keeping buildings, shops or equipment around the home in good condition. These tasks include trade skills, repair work, maintenance work, are both interior and exterior, and are sometimes described as "side work", "odd jobs" or "fix-up tasks". Specifically, these jobs could be light plumbing jobs such as fixing a leaky toilet or light electric jobs such as changing a light fixture or bulb.

Designed to Sell is an HGTV American reality television show produced by Pie Town Productions in Los Angeles and Chicago and Edelman Productions in Washington, D.C., and Atlanta. Each 30-minute episode focuses on fixing up a home that is about to go on the market or that has been on the market but has not attracted buyers. The show began airing in 2004 and was canceled in 2011.
Sell This House is an American reality television series that premiered July 6, 2003 on A&E and May 18, 2020 on FYI. Host Tanya Memme and home stagers/interior designers Roger Hazard and Daniel Kucan help homeowners who are having trouble selling their houses. For its ninth season, the show's name was changed to Sell This House: Extreme and the format expanded to one hour, with the materials budget increased from $2,000 to $20,000. Construction expert Charlie Frattini and designer Daniel Kucan joined the cast after Hazard departed the show.
A shop drawing is a drawing or set of drawings produced by the contractor, supplier, manufacturer, subcontractor, consultants, or fabricator. Shop drawings are typically required for prefabricated components. Examples of these include: elevators, structural steel, trusses, pre-cast concrete, windows, appliances, cabinets, air handling units, and millwork. Also critical are the installation and coordination shop drawings of the MEP trades such as sheet metal ductwork, piping, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical. Shop drawings are produced by contractors and suppliers under their contract with the owner. The shop drawing is the manufacturer’s or the contractor’s drawn version of information shown in the construction documents. The shop drawing normally shows more detail than the construction documents. It is drawn to explain the fabrication and/or installation of the items to the manufacturer’s production crew or contractor's installation crews. The style of the shop drawing is usually very different from that of the architect’s drawing. The shop drawing’s primary emphasis is on the particular product or installation and excludes notation concerning other products and installations, unless integration with the subject product is necessary.
Dream House is a show on HGTV produced by High Noon Entertainment and Sage Productions in the United States. Each season follows one person, couple, or family as they complete a new build or renovate an existing home, to obtain their dream house. Past seasons have featured thirteen 30-minute episodes, but the most recent seasons have only eight 30-minute episodes.

Catch a Contractor was an American reality television home improvement series that premiered March 9, 2014 on Spike. The show features former carpenter Adam Carolla, licensed contractor Skip Bedell and his wife Alison, a private investigator. The series premiere was the most watched debut of a Spike original series since March 2011.
Yard Crashers is a television show on the DIY Network that surprises home owners with a brand-new yard. The show is hosted by Matt Blashaw who is a licensed contractor. Like other "crasher" shows on the DIY Network, Blashaw and his crew ambush homeowners while they are home improvement shopping, follow them back to their homes, tear apart their yards and help them do a complete backyard makeover. They do the complete renovation in two filming days. The previous host, Ahmed Hassan (2008–2011), was replaced by Matt Blashaw in 2011. Blashaw is also taking a hiatus from the show, hosting HGTV's Vacation House For Free, starting summer 2014. Chris Lambton will temporarily host Yard Crashers.
