Talal Qureshi (born 2 April, 1988) is a Pakistani record producer, singer, songwriter, actor, director & makeup artist.

Early life

Qureshi was born and raised in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the youngest of six siblings. [1] He came across the video game MTV Music Generator on PlayStation which pushed him to start writing music at the age of 13. Later his family moved to Karachi, Pakistan.

Career beginnings (2007-2017)

He released his first single "Phase Shift" in 2007. In 2012, he released his debut EP "Equator". [2]

In 2013, He released his second EP x1988. [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] [10]

In 2014 Qureshi released the single "Too Much To Handle" and his remix of Mooroo's "Tasveer".

In 2015, Qureshi formed SNKM with Adil Omar and the duo released "Nighat & Paras", played at SXSW and various cities in the US and then collaborated and performed with Diplo and Elliphant for their first ever Pakistan show in 2016. [11] [12] [13]

SNKM debuted at Mad Decent Block Party 2016 alongside Diplo, Kesha, Marshmello and others and continued to play shows through until 2018 with Major Lazer, Skrillex and others. [14] [15]

Qureshi also produced a new single with Faris Shafi titled "Jawab De", a socially conscious rap song that focuses on the issues of military overreach, religious extremism, patriarchy and their resulting consequences of violence against disenfranchised civilians, minorities and women in Pakistan. The resulting controversy caused the song to be censored on media, despite receiving positive reviews. [16]

Breakthrough (2018-present)

In 2018, Qureshi released the single "AAG" with Punjabi folk singer Naseebo Lal and also co-produced 3 tracks off of Adil Omar's debut album Transcendence which included "Discovery", a collaboration with Rancid front man Tim Armstrong. [17] [18] [19] The track was featured in Ms. Marvel's episode Seeing Red in 2022. [1]

Qureshi has also appeared on BBC live sessions, featuring Faris Shafi.

In 2019 Qureshi, released "Mad Calls" with California based singer "Rehma".

In 2020, Qureshi released his single featuring Natasha Noorani. [20] He also released two EP's "Acha Vol.1 and Vol.2"

In 2020, Qureshi released LSD featuring Shamsher Rana. [21]

He released the single "PAISA" featuring R&B singer/songwriter Hasan Raheem. The music video was created by Arham Ikram and RohanYV. [22]

In 2023, he released the album TURBO. For the album he collaborated with Indian musicians, Mitika Kanwar (for songs ‘Aya’, ‘Chayn’ and ‘Dunya’) and rapper Yashraj. [23] [24]

The 2005–06 ABN-AMRO Twenty-20 Cup was the second season of the ABN-AMRO Twenty-20 Cup in Pakistan, sponsored by ABN AMRO. It was held in Karachi from 24 February to 4 March 2006. This edition featured an expanded format, with an increase from 19 to 39 matches and from 11 to 13 teams; the new teams being the Islamabad Leopards and the Abbottabad Rhinos. The Sialkot Stallions won the tournament by defeating the defending champions the Faisalabad Wolves in the final.

Natasha has also performed at Boiler Room's first-ever Pakistan edition.

Karakoram is a Pakistani alternative rock band. The band consists of Sherry Khattak as the lead vocalist and guitarist, Omair Farooq as bassist, Bilawal Lahooti as drummer, and Zain Peerzada and Annan Noukhez as guitarists. It was formed in Lahore, Punjab in 2017.

The fifteenth season of the Pakistani music television series Coke Studio Pakistan aired from 14 April to 4 July 2024 and was produced and curated by Xulfi. Maintaining the format of the previous season, this season featured 11 original compositions released as individual singles, each accompanied by a dedicated music video.
