Taloja Central Jail

Taloja Central Jail is a prison in Taloja near Taloja Panchnand railway station on the outskirts of Kharghar, a suburb of the city of Mumbai in the state of Maharashtra in India. [1] It was opened in 2008 and has capacity for 3000 inmates. [1]

The Indian Jesuit Roman Catholic priest and tribal rights activist Stan Swamy was held there preceding his death in 2021. [2]

Chandra Shekhar was an Indian politician who served as the 8th Prime Minister of India, between 10 November 1990 and 21 June 1991. He headed a minority government of a breakaway faction of the Janata Dal with outside support from the Indian National Congress. He was the first Indian Prime Minister who had never held any prior government office.

Vivekanandan Krishnaveni Sasikala, also known by her married name Sasikala Natarajan, and often referred to by her initials VKS, is an Indian politician. She was a close associate of J. Jayalalithaa, the late chief minister of Tamil Nadu, who headed the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) from 1989 until her death in 2016. After Jayalalithaa's death, the party's general council elected her as a temporary secretary general of AIADMK. Before entering the Central Prison in Bangalore, Sasikala appointed Edappadi K. Mahanandi is a 2005 Indian Telugu-language action drama film, directed by V. Samudra, starring Sumanth, Anushka Shetty and Srihari in the Lead. The movie was released on 3 December 2005. The 2018 Bhima Koregaon violence refers to violence during an annual celebratory gathering on 1 January 2018 at Bhima Koregaon to mark the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Bhima Koregaon. The violence and stone pelting by crowd on the gathering resulted in death of a 28-year old youth and injury to five others. The annual celebration, also called Elgar Parishad convention, was organised by retired justices B. G. Kolse Patil and P. B. Sawant. Justice Sawant stated that the term "Elgar" meant loud invitation or loud declaration.
