Beginning in 1952, the Tamil film Kaadu was made, which was an Indian-American co-production. The 1963 Tamil film Kalai Arasi, 1965 Telugu film Dorikithe Dongalu, and 1967 Hindi film Chand Par Chadayee also have science fiction in their storyline. The Alien was a science fiction film under production in the late 1960s which was eventually cancelled. The film was being directed by Bengali Indian director Satyajit Ray and produced by Hollywood studio Columbia Pictures. The script was written by Ray in 1967, based on "Bankubabur Bandhu", a Bengali story he had written in 1962 for Sandesh, the Ray family magazine.
Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani is a 2009 Indian Hindi-language romantic comedy film written and directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced by Ramesh Taurani under Tips Industries. Raveena Tandon is an Indian actress known for her work in Hindi films. Toilet: Ek Prem Katha or simply Toilet, is a 2017 Indian Hindi-language comedy-drama film directed by Shree Narayan Singh. Co-produced by Akshay Kumar and Neeraj Pandey, the film stars Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar, with campaigns to improve sanitation conditions in India, with an emphasis on the eradication of open defecation, especially in rural areas.
Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana is a 2017 Indian Hindi-language romance-drama comedy film directed by Ratnaa Sinha and written by Kamal Pandey. Produced by Vinod and Manju Bachchan, the film features Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Kharbanda alongside K. K. Raina, Alka Amin, Vipin Sharma, Govind Namdev, Navni Parihar, Nayani Dixit and Manoj Pahwa.
Janhit Mein Jaari is a 2022 Indian Hindi-language comedy-drama film directed by Jai Basantu Singh and written by Raaj Shaandilyaa. It stars Nushrat Bharucha, Paritosh Tripathi, Vijay Raaz among others.
