Ng Ser Miang, is a Singaporean entrepreneur, diplomat, and retired sailor. He founded Trans-Island Bus Services in 1982 and is a board member of Singapore Press Holdings. Since 1990, he has been the vice-president of the Singapore National Olympic Council, and since 2009, has served as a vice-president of the International Olympic Committee. In 2013, he was a candidate for the presidency of the International Olympic Committee, but eventually lost to Thomas Bach.

Tan Howe Liang, is a Singaporean weightlifter who was the first Singaporean to win an Olympic Games medal. He did this in the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome where he won the silver medal in the lightweight category. Tan also broke the oldest-standing world record in the lightweight category in the clean and jerk in 1958. He was the only Singaporean Olympic medalist until the 2008 Summer Olympics.
The 1993 Southeast Asian Games, officially known as the 17th Southeast Asian Games were held in Singapore from 12 to 19 June 1993 with 29 sports in 440 events featured in this edition. This was the third time Singapore hosted the games after 1983 and 1973 competition. It was opened by President Wee Kim Wee. The Games featured 29 sports in 440 events. The final medal tally was led by Indonesia.

Laurentia Tan Yen Yi BBM PBM, is a Singaporean para-equestrian competitor. Tan developed cerebral palsy and profound deafness after birth, and moved to the United Kingdom with her parents at the age of three. She took up horse riding aged five years as a form of physiotherapy. She subsequently completed her A-levels at the Mary Hare Grammar School, a residential special school for the deaf, and graduated with an honours degree from Oxford Brookes University in hospitality management and tourism.
Kadir Syed Abdul, born 16 February 1948, was the first Singaporean to win a medal for boxing in the Commonwealth Games, where he was awarded the bronze medal. He has also been a representative for Singapore in various regional meets.
Siew Shaw Her is a former Singaporean sailor who started his sailing career in 1974. Siew won a gold medal at the Asian Games and six gold medals at the Southeast Asian Games. He also represented Singapore in the Summer Olympics.

Joseph Koh Seng Leong is a Singaporean former sailor, who specialized in the Laser and 470 classes. He represented Singapore across two editions of the Summer Olympic Games, finishing outside the top twenty-five each in two separate boats, respectively. Outside Olympic career, Koh collected a total of two medals in a continental regatta, spanning the 2006 Asian Games in Doha and the 2007 Southeast Asian Games in Nakhon Ratchasima. Koh trained throughout his sporting career at SAF Yachting Club in Changi, under the tutelage of his personal coach Brett Beyer, a six-time Laser Apprentice Master world champion from Australia.
Xu Yuan Zhen is a Singaporean former sailor, who specialized in the two-person dinghy (470) class. A member of the Singapore Sailing Federation, Xu trained for the Games under head coach Craig Ferris.
Terence Koh is a Singaporean former sailor, who specialized in the two-person dinghy (470) class. Together with his partner Xu Yuan Zhen, he was named one of the country's top sailors in the double-handed dinghy for the 2008 Summer Olympics, finishing in a distant twenty-second place. Outside his Olympic career, he and Xu gave the Singaporeans a sterling silver medal in the men's 470 at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar. A member of the Singapore Sailing Federation, Koh trained for the Games under the tutelage of Australian-born head coach Craig Ferris. He is also the younger brother of two-time Olympian Koh Seng Leong.
Benedict Tan Chi Loong is a former Singaporean sailor and a doctor. He competed in the Laser event at the 1996 Summer Olympics. Tan was the former president of the Singapore Sailing Federation (SSF) from 2010 to 2018.
