Tangeni Amupadhi is a Namibian journalist. He is the Editor-in-chief of The Namibian , Namibia's largest English daily newspaper. In 2011 he took over from founding and long-serving editor Gwen Lister, who has been in the position for 26 years. [1]

Amupadhi worked at the Namibia Press Agency, South Africa's Mail & Guardian newspaper, and The Namibian. He is a Fulbright scholar at the University of Maryland, College Park as well as a Nieman Fellow at Harvard University, both in the U.S. In 2004, together with several people, he set up Insight Namibia as a private media company bringing out a monthly business and current affairs magazine. He worked as the magazine's editor until 2011. [2]

In 2007, Amupadhi was runner-up in the best reporter for investigative journalism award category by the Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA), after John Grobler. [3]

He was appointed to the politburo of SWAPO and served for a short time as Deputy Minister of Works, Transport and Communication but was forced to resign in August 2005 after being implicated in a corruption case. After SWAPO suspended all his party activities in the wake of the scandal, Kapia also lost his seats in the politburo and as member of parliament. He was, however, reinstated "on humanitarian grounds" into his SWAPO Party Youth League job in 2016.

insight Namibia is a monthly journal published in Namibia. The magazine was first published in September 2004. Its headquarters is in Windhoek. It covers current political, economic and social affairs and is owned and edited by Tangeni Amupadhi. insight Namibia is perceived to be critical of government. Its political coverage has received several journalism awards.

Martin Luther High School (MLH) is a boarding school in the village of Okombahe in the Erongo Region of central Namibia, named after German church reformer Martin Luther. The school has about 250 pupils in grades 8 to 12, and twelve teachers.
