Tanki Leendert is a town in Noord on the island of Aruba. The parish of Tanki Leendert has been split from Noord since 1968. [2] :10
Tanki is Papiamento for "pond", and Leendert is a common surname. An Amerindian village has been discovered near the town measuring 450 by 400 metres. It is one of the four known Amerindian settlements on Aruba. European pottery, pipes and bottles from the 18th century have also been discovered on the same site, suggesting a later resettlement. [3]
In the 20th century, Noord became the centre for the tourism industry and site of large scale hotel construction [2] :10 which has resulted in Tanki Leendert, Noord, Paradera and Tanki Flip merging into a near continuous urban area. [2] :9 In 1968, the parish of Tanki Leendert was split of Noord, and the Monte Calvario Church was inaugurated. [4] The Museum of Antiquities Aruba is located in Tanki Leendert. [5]
The local football team is SV Juventud Tanki Leendert who play in the Aruban Division Uno. [6]
Aruba is an island and a constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the mid-south of the Caribbean Sea, about 29 kilometres (18 mi) north of the Venezuelan peninsula of Paraguaná and 80 kilometres (50 mi) northwest of Curaçao. Oranjestad is the capital and largest city of Aruba, a constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. It is located on the southern coast near the western end of the island country. In the local language, Papiamento, Oranjestad is often referred to as "Playa". In 2010, the population of the capital was 28,294.

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Willemstad is a diocese of the Latin Rite of the Roman Catholic Church in the Caribbean. The diocese encompasses the territory of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the Caribbean: the countries Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten and the islands Bonaire, St. Eustatius, Saba. The cathedra is in the city of Curaçao. The diocese is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Port of Spain, and a member of the Antilles Episcopal Conference.
Felipe Benito Tromp was the first Governor of Aruba after Aruba received a status aparte within the Kingdom of the Netherlands. He worked as a teacher prior to becoming Governor and served as Minister for Education in the Antilles (1958-1962). He took office as Governor on 1 January 1986 and left office on 12 March 1992. He was succeeded by Olindo Koolman.

Francisco Dominico "Frans" Figaroa was an Aruban UNA and later MEP politician. He was Minister for Education of the Netherlands Antilles from 1961 until 1962, chairman of the parliament of the Netherlands Antilles from 1973 until 1979 and lieutenant governor of Aruba from 1979 until 1982. Figaroa also served as chair of the Aruba Football Federation and chair of the Netherlands Antilles Olympic Committee.
Aletta Beaujon was a Dutch poet and psychologist from the Netherlands Antilles. Born in Curaçao and later living in the Netherlands and Aruba, she published poems in Dutch, English and Papiamento, while working as a clinical psychologist. Unpublished poems were discovered after her death and released in 2009.

Bandariba is a district of the island of Curaçao. It is one of the three districts, and encompasses the south-eastern part of the island. The name is Papiamentu and translates to "up side". The district contains the towns and villages of Santa Rosa, Spaanse Water, Montaña, Seru Grandi, and Oostpunt.
Paardenbaai or Port of Oranjestad is the main seaport for passengers in Aruba. It is located in Oranjestad and has existed since 1796.
Belnem is a private community on the island of Bonaire. It is luxurious neighbourhood named after Harry Belafonte and Maurice Neme. Construction of Belnem started on 3 June 1966.
Fort Orange is a military fortification in Kralendijk, Bonaire. Originally built in 1639 as a nameless fort by the Dutch West India Company, it is the oldest structure on the island of Bonaire. The fort has never been used for its intended purpose. In 1816, it was rebuilt and named Fort Orange. The current lighthouse was built in 1932.
