Tanveer Evan is a Bangladeshi singer, songwriter, composer, and musician from Bangladesh. He rose to prominence through songs featured in Bangladeshi television dramas, most notably Avijog and Oviman. His music later gained wider recognition in India through collaborations with Indian production houses and artists.

Early life

Tanveer Evan was born in Chittagong, Bangladesh, where he spent his childhood and completed his education. He studied Computer science. His father, former railway official Imtiaz Babul, was a singer, which inspired Evan’s interest in music.

Career

Evan began his musical career with the Hindi song Maine Royaan, which he wrote and composed. [1]

In 2016, he gained his first major exposure with the song Avijog, featured in the television drama Best Friend. He later achieved nationwide popularity with Oviman, featured in Best Friend 3, which became one of the most viewed Bangla songs on YouTube. He followed this success with Ojanay, which was used in the drama Love Vs Crush.

In 2020, Evan achieved nationwide popularity with Oviman, featured in the drama Best Friend 3. The song was listed among the most viewed Bangla songs on YouTube that year. [2]

Indian collaborations

In 2021, Evan released the Bengali song O Mon Re under the banner of Shree Venkatesh Films, marking his debut collaboration with an Indian production house. [3]

In 2023, Evan released the Hindi single Judaiyaan. The music video featured Abhishek Malhan and Jiya Shankar and received coverage in Indian entertainment media ahead of its release. [4] [5]

Popularity and digital platforms

According to Prothom Alo, Evan released his first extended play (EP) titled Memories and Forever, featuring seven songs. The report stated that he has remained among the most streamed Bangladeshi artists on Spotify for several years, and has been recognised as a "Top Artist" on the platform. [6]

In 2023, Tanveer Evan was recognised as Bangladesh's most streamed artist on Spotify. According to Prothom Alo, his music reached approximately 9.6 million listeners across 180 countries, with his songs accumulating around 60 million streams on the platform. [7]

In 2023, he was also listed among TikTok's most popular Bangladeshi artists of the year. [8] [9]

Live performances

Evan has performed live in Bangladesh and abroad. In 2023, he appeared as an opening performer at a concert in Dhaka featuring Indian singer Darshan Raval. [10]
