The Maryland Democratic Party is the affiliate of the Democratic Party in the state of Maryland,headquartered in Annapolis. The current acting state party chair is Kenneth Ulman. It is currently the dominant party in the state,controlling all but one of Maryland's eight U.S. House seats,both U.S. Senate seats,all statewide executive offices and supermajorities in both houses of the state legislature.
Jolene Ivey is an American politician who has served as a member of the Prince George's County Council since 2018,first representing the 5th district from 2018 to 2024 and then the county's at-large district since 2024. She has also served as the council's president since 2023. A member of the Democratic Party,Ivey was a member of the Maryland House of Delegates from the 47th district from 2007 to 2015.

A member of the Democratic Party,Baker unsuccessfully ran for governor of Maryland in 2018 and 2022.

Astrue. On June 20,2014,President Barack Obama nominated her to serve as the commissioner. On September 18,2014,the United States Senate Committee on Finance approved her nomination by a 22–2 vote. However,her nomination was never brought up for a vote before the full Senate.

A member of the Democratic Party,she served from 2018 to 2024 as county executive of Prince George's County,Maryland,and from 2010 to 2018 as the county's state's attorney. She is the first female county executive of Prince George's County and the first Black female county executive in Maryland history.
The 2024 United States Senate election in Maryland was held on November 5,2024,to elect a member of the United States Senate to represent the state of Maryland. Democratic Prince George's County executive Angela Alsobrooks defeated Republican former Governor Larry Hogan in the contest to succeed Democratic incumbent Ben Cardin,who did not seek a fourth term. Alsobrooks is the first African American and second woman to represent Maryland in the Senate.

She was director of the Baltimore County Department of Public Works and Transportation from 2020 to 2024. Walker previously worked in the Maryland Department of Transportation,Maryland Department of General Services,and Prince George's County government.
