The Tarang Cine Awards are presented annually by Tarang entertainment television channel to honour both artistic and technical excellence of professionals in the Oriya language film industry mainly based in State of Orissa, India.

History

The awards have been instituted by Orissa Television (ORTEL) Communications that has launched the Taranga exclusive entertainment channel. To commemorate the 75 glorious years of Oriya cinema Bibhuprasad Rath, Director of Orissa Televisions Limited has announced Tarang Cine Awards during the award presentation ceremony in the Bhubaneswar on 26 February 2010. [1] [2]

First Tarang Cine Awards was held at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor stadium in Cuttack on 2 May 2010. [3]

Second Tarang cine awards held at Capital city Bhubaneswar on 26 February 2011.

Awards

Tarang Cine Awards given in 18 categories to various actors, best directors, singers and other personalities in the year 2010. Apart from this, lifetime achievement award is given to one person for his/her outstanding contribution to the Oriya cine industry. In the year 2011 adding 3 new categories () Awards number goes to 21.

<i>Swayamsiddha</i> 2010 Indian film

Swayamsiddha is a 2010 Oriya film directed by Sudhanshu Sahu with a screenplay and dialogue by Dilip Choudhury, produced by Prabhat Ranjan Mallik, and starring Siddhanta Mahapatra and Yukta Inderlal Mookhey. The film focuses on the implications for the young mass adopting to Maoist insurgency and their sustained alienation from the mainstream as a result. Geo-strategic importance of changing the minds of young people adopting terrorism through love and affection. The film traces the crisis from social trauma to unfair state system encouraging Mao-Naxal insurgency in Orissa.

<i>Sanju Aau Sanjana</i> 2010 Indian Odia-language film

Sanju Aau Sanjana is a 2010 Odia film screenplay & directed by Ashok Pati with dialogue by Rajaniranjan, produced by Lutu Mohanty, and starring Babushaan, Parijaat, and Mihir Das. It is a remake of the Telugu film Parugu starring Allu Arjun, Sheela, and Prakash Raj.

Haata Dhari Chalutha is a 2013 Oriya romantic movie directed by Himansu Parija. It was produced by Anubhav Mohanty & Anuprash Mohanty. The film stars with Anubhav Mohanty & Barsha Priyadarshini in lead roles. The music was given by Prem Anand. The film released on 14 June 2013. The film was a remake of Telugu film Solo.

<i>Balunga Toka</i> 2011 Indian Odia-language film

Balunga Toka is a 2011 Indian Odia-language romantic comedy film directed by Sudhakara Basanta. The film stars Anubhav Mohanty and Barsha Priyadarshini as lead role. Balunga Toka was released on 2 October 2011. The film was commercially successful and became the highest-grossing Odia film of all time. It is a remake of the 2004 Tamil-Telugu bilingual film 7G Rainbow Colony. The film score was released by Amara Muzik.

Raja Jhia Sange Heigala Bhaba is an Oriya drama and romance film released on 10 June 2012. Starring Arindam Roy, Archita Sahu and Mihir Das in key roles. veteran actress Mahasweta Roy being enacted the role of mother of Arindam Roy and Mihir Das played the role of father of Archita Sahu. The film is about strategic love dilemma of a rich girl with a poor boy. Arindam Roy was selected to play the lead role.

<i>Emiti Bi Prema Hue</i> 2012 Indian film

Emiti Bi Prema Hue is a 2012 Oriya romantic drama film directed by Nishikant Dalabehera. Sabyasachi Mishra, Riya Dey and Mihir Das played the lead cast. The film released on 10 February 2012.
