Team Northumbria Football Club is a football club based in Newcastle upon Tyne. They are the football team of Northumbria University and currently play in the BUCS Premier North League.
The club was founded in 1999 as Northumbria University Football Club and joined Division Two of the Northern Alliance. [1] In 2001–02 they were Division Two runners-up, earning promotion to Division One. [2] The club went on to finish as runners-up in Division One the following season, and were promoted to the Premier Division. [2] In 2003 they were renamed Team Northumbria. [2] The club's first season in the Premier Division saw them finish as runners-up. [3] Following a third-place finish in 2004–05, they were Premier Division champions in 2005–06, resulting in promotion to Division Two of the Northern League. The club entered the FA Vase for the first time the following season. [4]
In 2011–12 Team Northumbria won the Northern League's Ernest Armstrong Memorial Cup, beating Chester-le-Street Town on penalties in the final; [5] they also reached the final of the Northumberland Senior Cup, losing on penalties to Newcastle United reserves, [6] as well as winning the Division Two title, resulting in promotion to Division One. [3] Although they were relegated back to Division Two at the end of the 2013–14 season, they were Division Two runners-up in 2016–17 and were promoted to Division One again. [7]
In the summer of 2018, Team Northumbria resigned from the Northern League, continuing playing in the BUCS Premier North League. [7]
Whitley Bay Football Club, also known as The Seahorses, or simply The Bay, are an English football club based in the seaside town of Whitley Bay, in the North East county of Tyne and Wear. Initially founded as Whitley & Monkseaton Football Club in 1897, the club took its present name in 1958. The team plays its home matches at Hillheads Park, which is adjacent to the Whitley Bay Ice Rink and has a maximum capacity of 4,500.

In 2018 the club was reborn playing games at Scotswood in the West End of the city. They currently play in the Northern League Division Two, the tenth tier of the English football league system.

North Shields Football Club is a football club based in North Shields, Tyne and Wear, England. They have reached the 1st round of the FA Cup twice in their history: in 1933–34 and 1982–83. Following their promotion from Northern League Division Two, they achieved promotion to Northern League Division One from which they were promoted from in 2022 as Champions to the Northern Premier League Division One East. They also won the FA Amateur Cup at Wembley in 1969, beating Sutton United. During the 2014–15 season, North Shields repeated their 1969 success by defeating Glossop North End 2-1 AET at Wembley in the final of the FA Vase.
