Tear Me to Pieces is the sixth studio album by American rock band Story of the Year, released on March 10, 2023, through SharpTone Records. [2] This is their first album without guitarist and backing vocalist Phil Sneed and their first new music since 2010 that features bassist Adam Russell after coming back to the band in 2018.

Release

With the band about to start a two-month festival and headlining tour, the first single, "Real Life", was released on August 24, 2022, along with an accompanying music video featuring Dan and his wife Jen. [3] On October 12, the album's title track was released as the second single. [4] The music video features the band playing in an old church with their friends and fans. On the same day, the album title, artwork, and track listing were released. A month later, the third single, "Take the Ride", was released with the music video containing footage from their When We Were Young festival performance the previous month. [5]

On January 17, 2023, the album's fourth single, "War", was released. On February 15, the fifth single, "2005", was released. With the theme of the song reminiscing about the band's early days, the music video appropriately is made up of footage filmed of the band on- and off-stage in and around 2005. [6] On the same day, the band announced they would be supporting Yellowcard on select dates for their 20th anniversary of Ocean Avenue tour. The album was released on March 10, 2023, as well as the sixth single, "Afterglow". [7] [8]

Story of the Year is an American rock band formed in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1995 under the name 67 North. The band eventually changed their name to Big Blue Monkey in 1998, and then subsequently changed it again to Story of the Year in 2002, after the release of their self-titled EP on the indie label Criterion Records. At the time, they claimed they had discovered that a blues group named Big Blue Monkey already existed. Later, on their podcast "Page Avenue Crew", they clarified that they just did not care for the name and had just made up the excuse of another band having the same name.

Page Avenue is the debut studio album by American rock band Story of the Year. Goldfinger frontman John Feldmann, who served as a talent scout for Maverick Records, began working on demos with the band, and eventually for their debut album. Sessions took place at Feldmann's home studio, Foxy Studios in Marina del Rey, California; the group tracked three songs before guitarist Greg Haupt left in November 2002. Guitarist Philip Sneed was drafted in and sessions recommenced in early 2003. The album's release through Maverick Records was pushed back several times to September 16, 2003.

<i>City of Evil</i> 2005 studio album by Avenged Sevenfold

City of Evil is the third studio album by American heavy metal band Avenged Sevenfold, released on June 6, 2005, through Warner Bros. and Hopeless Records. Co-produced by Andrew Murdock, City of Evil contains a more traditional heavy metal and hard rock sound than Avenged Sevenfold's previous two albums, which showcased a predominantly metalcore sound. The album title is derived from a lyric in the song, "Beast and the Harlot". The album is notable for the absence of fry vocals. M.
