Hip hop music, also called hip-hop or rap music, is a music genre developed in the United States by inner-city African Americans in the late 1970s which consists of a stylized rhythmic music that commonly accompanies rapping, a rhythmic and rhyming speech that is chanted. It developed as part of hip hop culture, a subculture defined by four key stylistic elements: MCing/rapping, DJing/scratching with turntables, break dancing, and graffiti writing. Other elements include sampling beats or bass lines from records, and rhythmic beatboxing. While often used to refer solely to rapping, "hip hop" more properly denotes the practice of the entire subculture. The term hip hop music is sometimes used synonymously with the term rap music, though rapping is not a required component of hip hop music; the genre may also incorporate other elements of hip hop culture, including DJing, turntablism, scratching, beatboxing, and instrumental tracks. The term Hip hop as used to define the music genre came later, nobody including the African American pioneers who invented the art, the music, the rhymes and the dances in the Bronx, New York in the beginning were calling it Hip hop, in the Bronx people used to call it B-Beat Music that depended also on where in the Bronx you lived.

The term "record label" derives from the circular label in the center of a vinyl record which prominently displays the manufacturer's name, along with other information.

Tommy Flaaten, best known by his stage name Tommy Tee, is a Norwegian record producer, rapper, broadcaster, record executive, concert promoter and magazine publisher. He is known as the godfather of Norwegian hip hop. Tee owns the label Tee Productions, which is located in Oslo, Norway and is Norway's leading hip hop label. As well, he publishes Norway's only graffiti magazine and hosts a weekly national rap radio program.

Warlocks (band)

Warlocks are a Norwegian Hip-hop trio formed in 1992. The group has also been heavily involved in the graffiti and b-boy scene in Oslo. The trio consists of producer Hawk and the rappers Tech and Karma, who are twins. Warlocks released their debut album, Lyrical Marksmen, on a local independent label in 1995, and the street buzz resulted in a contract with Norway’s leading rap label Tee Productions.

Gatas Parlament band

Gatas Parlament is a Norwegian group of rap artists. It currently consists of artists Elling Borgersrud and Jester. The group was the first to release a hiphop-recording in their native language, Norwegian. All current and former members have strong left-leaning political views, and make their feelings on many things, including American president George W. Bush, a common motif in their lyrics.

The album is named after a slang term for high-grade cannabis, and its cover is a homage to Zig-Zag rolling papers. Roger McBride, better known by his stage name King T, is an American West Coast Hip hop rapper from Compton, California. Emerging as one of Compton's earliest hip hop artists. He was signed to Capitol records, where he released his debut album "Act a Fool" in 1988 with the hit singles, "Act a Fool," "Payback's a Mutha," "The Coolest," and "Bass (remix)," all of which were considered hip-hop classics. Mac Dre American rapper

Andre Louis Hicks, known professionally as Mac Dre, was an American rapper, record producer based in Oakland, CA. He was instrumental in the emergence of Hyphy, a cultural movement in the Bay Area hip-hop scene that emerged in the early 00s. Hicks is considered one of the movement's key pioneers that fueled it's popularity into mainstream, releasing songs with fast-paced rhymes and baselines that inspired a new style of dance. As the founder of the independent record label, Thizz Entertainment, Hicks recorded dozens of albums and gave aspiring rappers an outlet to release albums locally. In 2004, Hicks killed by an unknown assailant after a music performance in Kansas City, Missouri, In 2011, Time Magazine reported that his murder was still unsolved.

Ricardo Emmanuel Brown is an American rapper and actor, better known by his stage name Kurupt. His career began in the early 1990s when he was signed to Death Row Records and shortly after formed the duo Tha Dogg Pound with Daz Dillinger. After leaving Death Row in 1996, he signed with A&M and released his debut studio album, Kuruption! in 1998. He is also a member of the hip-hop supergroups The HRSMN and Diirty OGz.

Anthony Johnson better known by his stage name Slim The Mobster is a Los Angeles-based rapper signed to Gang Module Records and formerly Aftermath Entertainment. Slim The Mobster was known as Dr. Dre's new protégé. Johnson's manager is John Monopoly, who ushered in Kanye West's rapping career. His influence includes gangsta rap acts like The D.O.C and The Notorious B.I.G. He took his rap name from notorious pimp Fillmore Slim and from being in the trap having the mindset of a Mobster.
