Eknath Khadse is a politician and leader of the Nationalist Congress Party in Maharashtra state. He was a Member of Legislative Assembly of Maharashtra from Muktainagar constituency for six consecutive terms till 2019. He was a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party from 1987 until his resignation in October 2020. He is a member of Legislative Council of Maharashtra.

It consists of 288 members directly elected from single-seat constituencies. The Assembly meets at Vidhan Bhavan in Mumbai,though the winter session is held in Nagpur. Along with the Maharashtra Legislative Council,it comprises the legislature of Maharashtra. The presiding officer of the Assembly is the Speaker. Members of the Assembly are directly elected by the people of Maharashtra through elections held every five years,unless the Assembly is dissolved earlier. He was elected from Kasba Peth constituency to the Vidhan Sabha in five consecutive elections since 1995.
Abdul Sattar Abdul Nabi is an Indian politician from Maharashtra. He was briefly a minister in 2014 in the Congress government in Maharashtra. In 2019 he left Congress and joined Shiv Sena. He is a three term Member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from the Sillod constituency. He served as the state's Cabinet Minister for Animal Husbandry.
The 2019 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election was held on 21 October 2019 to elect all 288 members of the state's Legislative Assembly. After a 61.4% turnout in the election,the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena (SHS) won a majority. Following differences over the government formation,the alliance was dissolved,precipitating a political crisis.
Legislative Assembly election was held in Haryana on 21 October 2019 to elect 90 members of the Haryana Legislative Assembly. The final voter turnout was recorded at 68.20%. The results were announced on 24 October 2019.
By-elections to fifteen state assembly constituencies were held in Karnataka on 5 December 2019,and results were announced on 9 December. BJP,the ruling party,needed to win 6 out of the 15 seats to maintain its majority. It won 12 out of 15 seats. Congress won two,JD(S) failed to open its account,and one seat was won by a rebel BJP leader who contested as an independent.
The Maha Vikas Aghadi,is a state-level political coalition formed after the 2019 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election under the leadership of Uddhav Thackeray of SHS (UBT),Sharad Pawar of the NCP and Sonia Gandhi of the INC,along with the support from the Samajwadi Party,PWPI,CPI(M) and several other political parties including Independent MLAs. MVA is currently the official opposition in Maharashtra Legislature.
A general assembly election is scheduled to be held in Maharashtra on 20 November 2024 to elect the 288 members of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly,the counting and the results will be declared on 23 November 2024.
The Members of 14th Legislative Assembly of Maharashtra were elected in the 2019 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election,with results announced on 24 October 2019.
