The women's singles tennis event of the 2019 Pan American Games was held from July 29 through August 4 at the Club Lawn Tennis de La Exposcicion in Lima, Peru. [1]

Contents

Nadia Podoroska of Argentina won the gold medal, defeating Caroline Dolehide of the United States in the final, 2–6, 6–3, 7–6(7–4).

Verónica Cepede Royg of Paraguay, won the bronze medal, defeating Carolina Alves of Brazil in the bronze-medal match, 6–3, 6–4.

The singles final of the Stanford Classic was held on August 6, 2017. Johanna Konta was the defending champion, but chose not to participate this year. Madison Keys won the title, defeating CoCo Vandeweghe in the final, 7–6(7–4), 6–4.

Markéta Vondroušová was the defending champion, but chose not to participate.

Switzerland's Belinda Bencic defeated the Czech Republic's Markéta Vondroušová in the final, 7–5, 2–6, 6–3, to win the gold medal in Women's Singles tennis at the 2020 Summer Olympics. It was Switzerland's first victory in the women's singles. In the bronze medal match, Ukraine's Elina Svitolina defeated Kazakhstan's Elena Rybakina, 1–6, 7–6(7–5), 6–4. It was Ukraine's first Olympic tennis medal.
