Tennis has been an event at the Pan American Games since the first edition in 1951, with the exception of 1971. [1]
Currently, singles and doubles events for both men and women are contested. Mixed doubles was contested until 1995, and a team event was held in 1991 and 1995.

Gustavo Tsuboi is a table tennis player from Brazil, he won three medals in double and team events in the Pan American Games. Along with Hugo Hoyama and Thiago Monteiro, Tsuboi was part of the winning team at the 2007 Pan American Games and 2011 Pan American Games.
Thiago Farias Monte Monteiro, is a Brazilian table tennis player. He has won several medals in single, double, and team events in the Pan American Games and currently plays for Angers Vaillante in France. He is referred to as the next Hugo Hoyama and is currently ranked #1 player in Brazil and #21 in France.
Carolina Meligeni Rodrigues Alves is a Brazilian tennis player. She has career-high rankings of 165 in singles, achieved on 12 September 2022, and world No. 110 in doubles, achieved on 18 July 2022. Alves has won seven singles and 23 doubles titles at ITF Circuit tournaments.
Hugo Marinho Borges Calderano is a Brazilian table tennis player. In January 2022, he peaked at number 3 in the world rankings, becoming the highest-ranked Americas player in history. By becoming the first table tennis player from the Americas to reach an Olympic semi-final, he returned to the world No. 3 position in August 2024.
Luisa Veras Stefani is a Brazilian professional tennis player, and the first Brazilian woman to reach the WTA top 10. She reached the milestone on 1 November 2021 when she peaked at world No. 9 in doubles. On 20 May 2019, she reached a career-high WTA singles ranking of 431. She had a career-high combined junior ranking of No. 10, on 30 March 2015.
Bruna Yumi Takahashi is a Brazilian table tennis player. She represented Brazil at the Summer Olympics two times since 2016. She is one of the best Americas players in the ITTF world ranking, after Puerto Rico's Adriana Diaz. Her sister Giulia Takahashi also plays table tennis.

Alberto "Tico" Carrero Tellado is a Puerto Rican former professional tennis player.
Tennis competitions at the 2022 Bolivarian Games in Valledupar, Colombia were held from 29 to 05 July 2022 at Valledupar Snowshoe Complex in Zipaquirá, a sub-venue outside Valledupar. Five medal events were scheduled to be contested; singles and doubles for men and women, mixed doubles. Athletes from 11 countries competed in tennis at the Bolivarian Games.
Tennis competitions at the 2022 South American Games in Asunción, Paraguay were held from 11 to 15 October 2022 at the Rakiura Resort cluster in Luque, a sub-venue outside Asunción.

Giulia Yuri Takahashi is a Brazilian table tennis player. She represented Brazil at the Summer Olympics in 2024. Her sister Bruna Takahashi also plays table tennis.
