The 1984 men's eight rowing team was a Canadian rowing team that won a gold medal in the 1984 Summer Olympic Games.

Róbert Zimonyi was a Hungarian-born American rowing coxswain. He competed for Hungary in various events at the 1948 and 1952 Olympics and won a bronze medal in coxed pairs. After the Hungarian Revolution of 1956, he moved to the United States and became an American citizen in 1962. With American teams, he won an Olympic gold medal in 1964 and a European bronze medal in 1965, both in the eights, and a gold medal at the 1967 Pan American Games in coxed fours.
Timothy Carl Mickelson was a medical electronics executive and an American rower who competed and won medals in the 1972 Summer Olympics, the 1974 World Rowing Championships, as well as the 1975 Pan American Games.

Simon Carcagno is an American rower who competed in lightweight rowing. He won a gold medal in the eights at the 2008 World Rowing Championships and placed third in the coxless pairs in 2003. He also won a silver medal in the coxless fours at the 2007 Pan American Games. He represented the United States as an alternate at the 2004 Summer Olympics and the 2008 Summer Olympics.

William Joseph Knecht was an American competition rower. He took up the sport at La Salle University, and later went to Villanova University, graduating in 1951. In 1946, he joined the Vesper Boat Club and won multiple national titles with them. Internationally, he earned gold medals in the eights at the 1955 Pan American Games and 1964 Olympics, and in double sculls at the 1959 and 1963 Pan American Games. He also took part in the double sculls event at the 1960 Olympics, paired with John B. Kelly Jr., but failed to reach the final due to a sudden illness.
John DeStefani Hartigan was an American coxswain who twice competed at Olympic Games.
