Tent Show Records is an American record label founded by the indie rock band Murder by Death in 2006. The label operates under the EastWest family of labels and has released multiple albums by the band, including In Bocca al Lupo (2006) and Good Morning, Magpie (2010). [1] [2]
The label was created by Murder by Death as part of an effort to gain more control over their recording and distribution process while maintaining a professional partnership with EastWest Records for national and international distribution. [3]
Tent Show Records was first used to release Murder by Death’s third studio album, In Bocca al Lupo , which received positive reviews for its dark Americana tone and conceptual storytelling. [4] Following the success of that release, the label continued to handle the band’s subsequent albums, including Red of Tooth and Claw (2008) and Good Morning, Magpie (2010). The label became known for its hands-on approach to production, its focus on physical media like vinyl and CD special editions, and its direct-to-fan distribution strategy.
