Lieutenant Colonel Terry Wong, a former helicopter pilot with the Canadian Forces, was slated to become the next Canadian astronaut, with the private firm Canadian Arrow. [1] As of 2021, Wong is Branch Head for Doctrine Development at the RCAF Aerospace Warfare Centre

He received his pilot's license at the age of 17, and would go on to become a commercial pilot, an instructor on military jets and was a Canadian Armed Forces pilot based at CFB Borden, flying Griffons in the 400 Tactical Helicopter Squadron. Wong also holds a Masters of Engineering degree. [2] He is currently a Lieutenant Colonel with 16 Wing, CFB Borden, [3] an air command training centre.

The Combat Training Centre is responsible for the individual training of Canadian Army soldiers and officers in military occupational classifications that are controlled by the Canadian Army. The centre is headquartered at the 5th Canadian Division Support Base Gagetown, New Brunswick, and maintains schools at CFB Kingston, 8 Wing Trenton and CFB Borden in Ontario. Originally known as the Combat Arms School, it was formed at Camp Borden, Ontario, in 1965, moving to CFB Gagetown in the early 1970's. The Royal Canadian Air Force Academy is a Canadian Forces training establishment for non-commissioned members who serve with units of the Royal Canadian Air Force. Based at CFB Borden in central Ontario, it is a unit of fhe RCAF's 16 Wing. It also reports to the 2 Canadian Air Division, which is itself dedicated to the training of RCAF personnel. The RCAF A has 5 training Flights in Borden as well as 1 Flight in a detachment within Camp Aldershot, Nova Scotia.
