McLennan County is a county located on the Edwards Plateau in Central Texas. As of the 2020 census, its population was 260,579 . Its county seat and largest city is Waco. The U.S. census 2021 county population estimate is 263,115. The county is named for Neil McLennan, an early settler.

George W. Truett Theological Seminary is a Baptist theological seminary in Waco, Texas. The seminary, named after Southern Baptist preacher George Washington Truett, was founded in 1993 as part of Baylor University and is affiliated with the Baptist General Convention of Texas.
Alexander James Moore Academy was a magnet high school in the Waco ISD district in Waco, TX. A.J. Moore was designed to prepare students for success in post secondary education and in the workplace. Students were prepared to excel academically, physically and socially. Special emphasis was placed on business, engineering, entrepreneurship, technology, and post-secondary education. In February 2012, the Waco Independent School District decided in part, avoiding a $3.4 million budget shortfall, to close and consolidate A. J. Moore Academy with University High School. On June 2, 2012, A.J. Moore Academy gave diplomas to its last graduating class. A. J. Moore Academy existed as a stand-alone school for 14 years.
The Baylor Research and Innovation Collaborative is a science research facility. It is the first, and cornerstone, facility of a 21-acre discovery complex that is expected to evolve into the Central Texas Technology and Research Park. Originally a General Tire manufacturing facility, the building and surrounding area are due to be renovated to provide 300,000 square feet of physical space for labs, research centers, industry collaborative space and workforce training.
Harlingen Colligate High School (HCH) is a public high school in Harlingen, Texas. It is a specialized dual enrollment school which offers students the ability to earn up to 2 years of college credit at no cost at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV), focusing in 5 general areas: education, engineering, computer science, medical sciences, and college academic core curriculum requirements. Each class is capped at 100 students each, which encourages a small learning community to support educational success. It is an open-enrollment campus available to all who live in the Rio Grande Valley, with a special focus in recruiting at-risk students and historically underrepresented minorities. The application process for rising freshmen places special consideration on the student's personal goals, college preparedness, academic success, and demographic background. In 2018, 92% of students were Hispanic, 57% were female, and 61% were economically disadvantaged.
Murray Watson Jr. was an American politician. He served as a Democratic member in the Texas House of Representatives from 1957 to 1963 and in the State Senate from 1963 to 1973. As a senator, he introduced legislation that led to the creation of the Texas State Technical College.
