Motown is an American record label owned by the Universal Music Group. It was founded by Berry Gordy Jr. as Tamla Records on January 12, 1959, and incorporated as Motown Record Corporation on April 14, 1960. Its name, a portmanteau of motor and town, has become a nickname for Detroit, where the label was originally headquartered.

Christopher Noel Dorsey, better known by his stage name B.G., is an American rapper from New Orleans, Louisiana. He began his musical career in 1993 upon signing with Birdman's Cash Money Records at the age of 12. Dorsey and label-mates Lil Wayne, Juvenile and Turk collectively formed the group Hot Boys in 1997, with whom he has released three commercially successful albums. As a solo act, Dorsey has released five solo albums for Cash Money—Chopper City (1996), It's All on U, Vol. 1 (1997), It's All on U, Vol. 2 (1997), the platinum-certified Chopper City in the Ghetto (1999) and Checkmate (2000)—to moderate success. He parted ways with the label in 2001 and founded Chopper City Records later that year.

(1998) was released by A&M Records and peaked at number eight on the Billboard 200.

Zig Zag is the debut studio album by Latin hip hop duo Tha Mexakinz. It was released on May 17, 1994 via Wild West Records and Mad Sounds Recordings. Recording sessions took place at Trax Recording Studio and Kitchen Sync Studios in Hollywood, at Track Recording Studio and at Skip Saylor Recording. Production was handled by member Sinful, as well as Morris Taft, Bird and Quincy Jones III. It features cameo appearances from Mr. Nice Guy, Scrap Dog, Chili & Bean.
Tha Mexakinz is the second full-length studio album by American Latin hip hop duo Tha Mexakinz. It was released on August 13, 1996, through Wild West Records. Recording sessions took place at Kitchen Sync Studios in Hollywood and at Fluid Recording Studio. Production was handled by member Sinful, as well as Thayod Ausar and Bird, with Morris Taft serving as executive producer. It features guest appearances from Chino XL, Supherb, Xzibit, K.Y.M., Danjah, Detriment, Rom, Moziz and Frost.
Daniel Faraldo, known professionally as Dan-e-o, is a Canadian hip hop artist and actor of Jamaican and Spanish descent. In June 2015, Dan-e-o received the award for Best Hip Hop Artist at the Black Canadian Awards. He is a member of the groups Monolith and Perfeck Strangers, both based in Scarborough, Ontario.
