Thapliyal is a Garhwali Sarola Brahmin toponymic surname from Thapli, a village in the Chamoli District [1] of the Indian state of Uttarakhand. [2] [3] [4] [5] In around 980 CE, people of Thapliyal Sarola Gaur Brahmin caste settled in a village named Thapli in Chandpur. [6] [7] Their Kuladevi is Jwalpa Devi. [8] [9]
