The Antics are an improvisational comedy troupe formed in 2008, primarily of alumni of Sheffield Hallam University.
They are popular at venues across Sheffield including the Lantern Theatre, [1] The Dorothy Pax, and The Montgomery Theatre.
They made their Edinburgh Festival Fringe [2] debut in 2010, and returned in 2011 for a second run entitled "Premature Ejokeulation", receiving a 3/5 rating from popular festival reviewer ThreeWeeks. [3]
'Premature Ejokeulation' was also notable for being named #1 in Esquire's list of "How not to name your fringe act" shows, [4] also placing #1 in the Edinburgh Festival Guide's Top 10 Punning Show Titles. [5]
In 2013 they performed their third show at the Fringe, entitled "A Pile Of Wit".
They are known for their audience interaction, assortment of comedic styles and unpredictability.
They have also produced a podcast series called "The Antics' Rambles". This includes comedy podcasts, as well as a series called "The Concrete Chronicles", which is a fully improvised story series.

Sheffield publication Exposed Magazine reviewed The Antics positively, saying "Antics always have something to say, no matter how surreal, absurd or inappropriate it might end up sounding, and that’s the fun. The fact that truly anything could happen next is enough to keep you engaged and ensures you’re never bored". [6]
Audiences who attended their Edinburgh shows in 2010 rated them 4.7 out of 5, via the website Love Fringe [7] stating that they were "hilarious, quick on their feet and the show was fast-paced".
The 2011 Edinburgh show also received high ratings, including 3* on ThreeWeeks "Much better than the title suggested", 5* on LoveFringe [8] and 3.0 on Broadway Baby. [9]
The 2013 Edinburgh was met with mixed reviews, including a 3* rating from Broadway Baby. [10]
Richard Keith Herring is an English stand-up comedian and writer, whose early work includes the comedy double act Lee and Herring. He is described by The British Theatre Guide as "one of the leading hidden masters of modern British comedy".

Glenn Chandler is a Scottish playwright, novelist, producer and theatre director. He has written plays for theatre and radio, original screenplays for television and films, television series, and also novels. His best known work is the Scottish television detective series Taggart, which was commissioned by Scottish Television for the ITV Network from 2 July 1985 until 7 November 2010, and which continues to be broadcast around the world. Since the completion of Taggart in 2010, Glenn Chandler has focused on writing for the theatre, with a consistent run of productions in both London and Edinburgh.
The Scottish Falsetto Sock Puppet Theatre is a comedy act that began in the United Kingdom in 2005 and has performed nationally and internationally since. They first appeared as part of The Sitcom Trials in London. They appeared in the Gilded Balloon at Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019 and 2022 attracting highly positive reviews. The act has toured nationally and internationally every year since 2008 including Australia, Holland, Denmark and the Channel Isles. Prestigious appearances have included the Cheltenham Literary Festival and the Edinburgh International Magic Festival. Broadway Baby is a British online review guide and arts news website which launched in 2004. It is the most prolific reviewing publication at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe from 2012 onward. It contains reviews of music, comedy, theatre and dance at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Brighton Fringe, Camden Fringe and year-round in London and Central Scotland. Formerly, a printed version was also published.

This show was widely reported in the press as the only live show at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2020. The show was given four stars by The Times which reviewed it as 'The best show at the Fringe. A classic, structured, rollercoaster Fringe hour...star-in-waiting...he is untouchable.' Previously he was nominated for a Malcolm Hardee Award in 2012, won best solo comedy show on the Buxton Fringe in 2014, and was nominated for the same award in 2015, 2016, 2017 2019, and 2021. He has also won the Sir Michael Caine Award for new writing in theatre. He also presents the podcast Psycomedy about the Psychology of stand-up comedy and the daily comedy/piano podcast Daily Notes.
Dan Willis is an Australia-based English comedian, originally studying and then working in information technology for over 12 years before moving into live stand-up comedy after the IT crash of 2002. Since then, Willis has performed over 2,000 times at comedy venues and festivals throughout the world, as well as live stand-up.
