Weezer is the eponymous debut studio album by American rock band Weezer, released on May 10, 1994, by DGC Records. The album came two years after the band's founding, after they initially struggled as an alternative to grunge music, which was prevalent in Los Angeles during the early 1990s. It was almost entirely arranged and composed by frontman Rivers Cuomo, who also anticipated to lead the band in self-producing the album. Superchick, originally known as Superchic[k], was an American Christian alternative pop/rock band. Their music incorporated various styles such as pop, punk, rock, rap, and R&B. Their sound has been compared to mainstream artists like No Doubt and Avril Lavigne only with a heavier sound. Superchick has had five songs reach No. 1 on music charts, and their song "Stand in the Rain" held the No. 1 spot for nine weeks on R&R Christian Hit Radio (CHR) chart in 2006/2007.

Dance Naked is the thirteenth studio album by American singer-songwriter John Mellencamp released on June 21, 1994. The Elms were an American rock and roll band known for their breed of rootsy, blues-based rock, with the essence of the music of the 60s and 70s. This Side of the Moon is the third studio album by American singer Elizabeth Cook. Angels Never Die is the fourth solo album of the German female hard rock singer Doro Pesch. The album was released in February 1993 and was produced by Jack Ponti and Vic Pepe. The two producers had worked with Alice Cooper on the hit single "Hey Stoopid" and had produced minor glam metal bands like Surgin’ and Baton Rouge. The sound and musical style of Angels Never Die is very similar to what can be heard on the second Doro solo album, alternating heavy rock tracks with large choruses and power ballads, in the vein of the declining glam metal that had dominated the American rock charts for the first part of the decade.

"Hey Man Nice Shot" is a song by American rock band Filter, released on July 18, 1995 as the lead single from their debut studio album Short Bus. The guitar line in the chorus was previously used in the Stabbing Westward song "Ungod" in 1994. Stuart Zechman, who was also playing guitar for Stabbing Westward at the time, took the riff and showed it to Stabbing Westward who ended up using it as well.

A southern rock song, "Make You Move" features a heavy kick drum and grunge-influenced chorus, while the vocals are distorted during the bridge and take on a muffled effect. Lyrically, the song depicts evangelism for the perspective of a non-believer.
Kopecky is an American indie-rock band formed out of Nashville, Tennessee in 2007.
