The Blanche Hudson Weekend is a UK-based indie band, originating from Leeds and formed in 2009. The band is named after the fictional character portrayed by Joan Crawford in the 1962 film What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? , which itself is based on the Henry Farrell novel of the same name. [1] [2] [3] The band was formed by Darren Lockwood and Caroline McChrystal after the split of their former band The Manhattan Love Suicides in July 2009. [1] [3] Allmusic's Margaret Reges described the band as "[...] a twee pop outfit whose blissfully buzzy, girl group-influenced tunes drew heavily from seminal twee pop acts like the Shop Assistants, Dolly Mixture, and Talulah Gosh", [3] and the band have cited the British indie pop band The Primitives as an influence. [4]

Initially the band were a studio-only project with various guests helping on recordings. [1] They released their debut 7", an EP titled The Letters to Daddy, on Squirrel Records in November 2009. [5] [6] On 20 July 2010 the band debuted its live line-up for the first time. [7] The band then released two further 7" singles, [8] followed by a 17-track compilation CD, released on the band's own Squirrel Records imprint at the end of 2010, titled Reverence, Severance and Spite. [9] [10] The band's debut album, titled You Always Loved Violence, was released on 10 October 2011. [11] The three-track limited edition Deep Thrust EP was released on Odd Box Records on 12 November 2012 [12] as a prelude to a new album to be entitled How Many Times Have You Let Me Die?, scheduled for release on 8 April 2013. Cults is an American indie pop band formed in New York City in 2010. The band first came to prominence when they posted a three-song EP, Cults 7", on their Bandcamp page. They are signed to Sony and In the Name Of, a record label that was set up by British singer Lily Allen.

Mood Rings are an alternative rock band based in Atlanta. Debuting in 2011 with the EP Sweater Weather Forever, they have since been recognised nationally for their sound, which has been called "engaging" by The Guardian, "lush and ethereal" by BrooklynVegan, "dreamy post-punk" by Stereogum, and "lush, neon hued" by Spin Magazine. Their second single, "Pathos y Lagrimas" was featured in Converse's "Ready, Set: Get Lost" music series. Converse recorded and released a music video for the song on YouTube in October 2012. They released a limited edition silk-screened 7" of "Pathos y Lagrimas" and "333" for Record Store Day 2013, and performed an instore at Atlanta's Criminal Records. The Garden is an American experimental rock band from Orange County, California, formed in 2011 by twin brothers Wyatt and Fletcher Shears. The duo released their debut album The Life and Times of a Paperclip in 2013, with several smaller releases following. In 2015, the group released their second studio album Haha along with the lead single "All Smiles Over Here :)" to critical acclaim after being signed to Epitaph Records. They released their third album Mirror Might Steal Your Charm in March 2018, and their fourth album, Kiss My Super Bowl Ring was released in March 2020. The brothers have toured across the US, Europe, United Kingdom, China, Japan, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Mexico, and in 2019, they appeared at Coachella.
