The Blood is an album by Christian alternative rock artist Kevin Max that was released December 26, 2007.
Unlike Max's previous albums (both solo and as part of dc Talk), The Blood is a gospel album instead of having his usual rock stylings. Max had commented for the press release, stating, "It has taken me almost two decades to come full circle and realize how much gospel music has inspired me and influenced my decisions in music." He also explains a bit more on the style, stating, "The Blood is not a classic hymns cover project or a white/homogenized version of black gospel or soul music, it's a sensitive and stylized adaptation of the music that was at the root of rock and roll, blues, and popular culture." It features the popular songs "My Jesus", "Unchanging One" and "In the Middle of Me", all of which got much limelight on most modern contemporary Christian music radio stations in America. As is tradition for Agnew, the lyrics that play on the fifth track are entirely taken from the bible. In addition to "Isaiah 6", another tradition of Agnew's is to radically change a hymn into a modern rock song. For this album Agnew took the popular song "It Is Well" and revamped it to his style.
Live the Life is an album by Michael W. Smith. One notable song on this album was "In My Arms Again," which Michael W. Smith wrote for the film Titanic. There were 26 songs written and completed for the album, whose release date was pushed back twice as Smith wasn't fully satisfied with the track list. Along with the 12 songs which eventually made it on the album, the tracks "Greater Than We Understand" and "Evening Show" were released on the B-sides of the CD singles for "Live the Life" and "Love Me Good" respectively. The remaining 12 songs appeared in some form on Smith's 1999 album This Is Your Time.
