The Citadel Bulldogs women's soccer is an intercollegiate varsity sports team of The Citadel. The team is a member of the Southern Conference of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, and was established in 2001 shortly after the integration of women into the South Carolina Corps of Cadets. The men's soccer program was discontinued in 2004. [2]

The National University Bulldogs are the collegiate men's varsity teams of National University in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines. The collegiate women's varsity teams are called the Lady Bulldogs while the high school varsity teams are called the Bullpups. The National University Athletic Director is Rustico “Otie” Camangian. College Park is a stadium in Charleston, South Carolina. It was primarily used for baseball and was the home of Charleston RiverDogs. It is currently used by the Citadel Bulldogs baseball team for practice. The ballpark has a capacity of 4,000 people and opened in 1940. The grandstand is constructed of metal bleachers and is largely covered by a roof. The first few rows of seats between the dugouts are situated below ground level, giving fans the rare perspective seen from dugout level.

In their first season under head coach J. Quinn Decker, the Bulldogs compiled a 3–5 record and were outscored by a total of 154 to 82. Albert Salvato was the team captain.

The schools were two of the last colleges in the United States to integrate women into their respective student bodies, with Wofford admitting women in 1976 and The Citadel in 1996. The 2017 Southern Conference women's soccer tournament was the postseason women's soccer tournament for the Southern Conference held from October 25 through November 5, 2017. The first round and quarterfinals of the tournament were held at campus sites, while the semifinals and final took place at Samford University Track & Soccer Stadium in Birmingham, Alabama. The ten-team single-elimination tournament consisted of four rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The Samford Bulldogs were the defending champions, but they were eliminated from the 2017 tournament with a 2–1 semifinal loss in double overtime to the UNC Greensboro Spartans. UNC Greensboro won the tournament with a 1–0 win over the Western Carolina Catamounts in the final. This was the seventh Southern Conference tournament title for the UNC Greensboro women's soccer program and the first for head coach Michael Coll.

The first round and quarterfinals of the tournament were held at campus sites, while the semifinals and final took place at UNCG Soccer Stadium in Greensboro, North Carolina. The ten-team single-elimination tournament consisted of four rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The UNC Greensboro Spartans were the defending champions but were unable to defend their crown, losing 1–0 t the Furman Paladins in the semifinal. The Samford Bulldogs were the eventual champions, defeating Furman 1–0 in the final. This was the third Southern Conference tournament title for the Samford women's soccer program, all three of which have come under coach Todd Yelton.
The 2021 Southern Conference women's soccer tournament was the postseason women's soccer tournament for the Southern Conference held from October 26 through November 7, 2021. The tournament was held at campus sites, with the higher seed hosting. The ten-team single-elimination tournament consisted of four rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The Furman Paladins were the defending champions but were unable to defend their crown, losing 4–2 in the final to the Samford Bulldogs. This was the fourth Southern Conference tournament title for the Samford women's soccer program, all four of which have come under coach Todd Yelton. As tournament champions, Samford earned the Southern Conference's automatic berth into the 2021 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Tournament.
