The Flops were a collaboration of John Munson (bassist of Semisonic and Trip Shakespeare) and Matt Wilson (frontman of Trip Shakespeare). They played several shows, mostly in Minneapolis, between 2001 and 2005. They covered material from the Trip Shakespeare days, Matt's solo efforts (Matt's 1998 CD, Burnt, White, and Blue) and some new material.
In 2003 they released a CD titled "Ohh La La" with one music disc and one CD-ROM story disc (some of which were defective) called Ohh La La: A Tale of Love, Loss, Rock and Roll by Sam Magavern.
In 2006 they contributed a performance of "On Top of Old Smokey" to the compilation Down by the Riverside: A Benefit for Reuben Lindh Family Services.
They announced in their farewell show (Mar 17, 2007) that they would be returning in the fall with a new band in full rock mode, but that they would be "leaving all their best songs behind". The new band was said to be called "the Dark Nights" and had a slight website at thedarknights.com which, at the moment, seems no longer active. The Flops website TheFlops.com domain has expired Jan 12, 2008.
In late spring of 2005, John Munson began playing in a new trio, "The New Standards", featuring Chan Poling (of The Suburbs) and Steve Roehm.
At the Provention Concert (September 2, 2008 at the Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul, Minnesota), John Munson and Matt Wilson performed as The Twilight Hours [1] and announced that they will have a new album coming out in the fall.

Dream Theater is an American progressive metal band formed in 1985 under the name Majesty by John Petrucci, John Myung and Mike Portnoy while they attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. They subsequently dropped out of their studies to concentrate further on the band that would eventually become Dream Theater. Though a number of lineup changes followed, the three original members remained together until September 8, 2010, when Portnoy left the band and he was replaced several months later by Mike Mangini. James LaBrie has been the lead singer of Dream Theater since 1991, replacing Charlie Dominici who had left the band two years earlier. Dream Theater's first keyboardist, Kevin Moore, left the band after three albums and was replaced by Derek Sherinian in 1995 after a period of touring. After one album with Sherinian, the band replaced him with current keyboardist Jordan Rudess in 1999.
The Cult are an English rock band formed in 1983 in Bradford, West Yorkshire. Before settling on their current name in January 1984, the band performed under the name Death Cult, which was an evolution of the name of lead singer Ian Astbury's previous band Southern Death Cult. They gained a dedicated following in the United Kingdom in the mid-1980s as a post-punk/gothic rock band, with singles such as "She Sells Sanctuary", before breaking into the mainstream in the United States in the late 1980s establishing themselves as a hard rock band with singles such as "Love Removal Machine". Since its initial formation in 1983, the band have had various line-ups; the longest-serving members are Astbury and guitarist Billy Duffy, who are also the band's two songwriters.
Blues Traveler is an American rock band that formed in Princeton, New Jersey in 1987. They are known for extensive use of segues in live performances, and were considered a key part of the re-emerging jam band scene of the 1990s, spearheading the H.O.R.D.E. touring music festival.
The All-American Rejects is an American rock band from Stillwater, Oklahoma, formed in 1999. The band consists of lead vocalist and bassist Tyson Ritter, lead guitarist and backing vocalist Nick Wheeler, rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist Mike Kennerty, and drummer Chris Gaylor. Wheeler and Ritter serve as the band's songwriters; Wheeler is the primary composer and Ritter is the primary lyricist. Although Kennerty and Gaylor are not founding members, they have appeared in all of the band's music videos and on all studio releases except for the band's self-titled debut.

She has released ten solo albums, beginning with 1996's Broken Girl, and is also the lead singer for the band Julie and the Wrong Guys.
John Munson is an American musician who is best known as the bass player for Semisonic. He was also a member of Trip Shakespeare during the late 1980s and early 1990s.
Daniel Dodd Wilson is an American musician, singer, songwriter, record producer, and visual artist. His songwriting resume includes "Closing Time", which he wrote for his band, Semisonic, "Not Ready to Make Nice" and "Someone Like You". He earned a Grammy nomination for "Closing Time" and won Grammys for Song of the Year and Album of the Year.
Trip Shakespeare was an American rock band formed in Minneapolis, Minnesota in the late 1980s/early 1990s. The band included Dan Wilson and John Munson, who would later go on to be founding members of Semisonic.
The New Standards is a minimalist jazz trio formed in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 2005 and composed of Chan Poling, John Munson and Steve Roehm. With Poling on piano, Munson on bass and Roehm on vibraphone, the band reinterprets songs from a wide variety of genres, from classics like Rodgers and Hammerstein's My Favorite Things to London Calling by The Clash.
Across The Universe is an album released by Trip Shakespeare in 1990. It was the band's first release on A&M Records, the major label that they had signed with earlier in the year.

Road Trips Volume 2 Number 2 is two-CD live album by the American rock band the Grateful Dead. The sixth in their "Road Trips" series of albums, it was the first to contain a complete concert — the February 14, 1968 show at the Carousel Ballroom in San Francisco, California. Bonus material on Disc 1, as well as the bonus disc offered to early purchasers, comes from the Grateful Dead and Quicksilver Messenger Service "Tour of the Great Pacific Northwest", immediately preceding the Carousel Ballroom show. The album was released on March 21, 2009.

Wilson was a five-piece rock band from East Lansing, Michigan, United States. The band formed in 2010 when founding member Jason Spencer was attending Michigan State University. Vocalist Chad Nicefield joined in late 2010. They released three full studio albums: Full Blast Fuckery (2013), Right to Rise (2015) and Tasty Nasty (2018). The band also released an EP in 2010 named Standing On The Reel under a different lineup, besides Jason Spencer. Wilson’s final lineup comprised Chad Nicefield (vocals), Jason Spencer (guitar), Kyle Landry (guitar), James Lascu (bass) and Matt Puhy (drums).
Are You Shakespearienced? is the second studio album released by Minneapolis alternative rock band Trip Shakespeare. It was released in 1989 on Minneapolis indie label Gark Records, then reissued in 1998 on Minneapolis label Clean/Twin/Tone Records, and again in 2014 on Omnivore Recordings.
Volt is the final work released by Minneapolis alternative rock band Trip Shakespeare. A six-song EP of covers, it was released in 1992 by Minneapolis label Clean Records.
