The Journey of Javier Heraud (Spanish: El viaje de Javier Heraud) is a 2019 Peruvian-Spanish biographical documentary film written and directed by Javier Corcuera. [1]
The documentary is a portrait of the Peruvian poet and guerrilla fighter Javier Heraud, who died at the age of 21 in Madre de Dios, a town in the Peruvian jungle, through the information and documents possessed by Ariarca Otero, Heraud's great-niece. [2] [3] [4]

While the Peruvian film industry has not been nearly as prolific as that of some other Latin American countries, such as Mexico or Argentina, some Peruvian movies produced enjoyed regional success. Historically, the cinema of Peru began in Iquitos in 1932 by Antonio Wong Rengifo because of the rubber boom and the intense arrival of foreigners with technology to the city, and thus continued an extensive, unique filmography, with a different style than the films made in the capital, Lima.
Javier Heraud Pérez was a Peruvian poet and member of the Ejército de Liberación Nacional (ELN). In his early life he studied at Markham College and later he continued his studies at Pontifical Catholic University of Peru.
