The Lakes Distillery is a distillery based in the Lake District that is owned by The Lakes Distillery Company [1] and provides a variety of products including whisky, gin and vodka. [2]

History

In December 2014 The Lakes Distillery was established in 2014 by Paul Carrie and provides a variety of products. [3]

On January 7, 2022 The Lakes Distillery announced plans to expand its distillery by installing 8 new washbacks. [4]

On March 12, 2024 James Pennefather became the new chief executive of The Lakes Distillery. [5]

On April 3, 2024 Nyetimber made a bid to acquire The Lakes Distillery for £71m. [6]

Worlds best single malt

On May 24, 2022 The Whiskymaker’s Reserve No.4 was named the world’s best single malt at the world whisky awards in the Merchant Taylors Hall. [11] [12]

English - Scottish blended whisky

On 22 June 2018 the Lakes Distillery created an English - Scottish blended whisky. [13] [14]

Auction

On July 12, 2018 the Lakes Distillery auctioned its Genesis Single Malt Whisky which sold for s total of £7,900. [15]
