The Land of Legends is an amusement park and water park in Antalya, Turkey. It contains a shopping mall and a hotel within the park. It is the largest theme park in Turkey. [1] There are two sections of the park which are "Adventure Land" and "Masha and the Bear Land of Laughter".

History

Rixos World Parks & Entertainment founded the park and opened in 2016, which eventually they incorporated a shopping mall and the Kingdom Hotel for expansions. Later a 111 feet tower was added. Fettah Tahmince, the chairman of Rixos said, "The Land of Legends is the first ring of the new generation entertainment destinations that we will revive. With this project, we create a new destination beyond a hotel, a theme park, shopping units and aqua parks" and Adventure Rapids was the first rollercoaster added to the park. [2] There also contains a spa, a other entertainment within the park. [1] A wave pool was later added and a five-star hotel with accommodations. [2]

In 2017, it was awarded “Europe’s Best Theme Park” in the World Travel Awards and for its waterpark in the Leading Edge Awards and the park reaches 620 kilometers (385 miles). It won the award again in 2018. [3] [4]

In 2023, Sally Dark Rides opened up a Nickelodeon attraction at the park of SpongeBob SquarePants, making it the first attraction to be opened by the company outside of the United States. [5]

Hangzhou Bay Sunac Tourism City is a theme park and entertainment complex under construction in Jiaxing, Zhejiang, China, about 45 miles from downtown Shanghai. It was announced by the Six Flags Entertainment Corporation in 2015 as part of the company's bid to open multiple parks in China. In February 2020, Six Flags dropped out of the project when their partner, Riverside Investment Group, encountered was unable to meet their financial obligations. In June 2020, Sunac China Holdings took over the project and opened the Sunac Water Park in June 2021. The complex is projected to open in stages, with the rebranded Sunac Land theme park to open in 2024, and the rest of the project to be completed by 2025. However, construction delays may postpone the openings.
