Some members of the Society for Psychical Research (SPR), such as inventor Maurice Grosse and writer Guy Lyon Playfair, believed the haunting to be genuine, while others such as Anita Gregory and John Beloff were "unconvinced" and found evidence the girls had faked incidents for the benefit of journalists. Members of the Committee for the Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal (CSICOP), including stage magicians such as Milbourne Christopher and Joe Nickell, criticized paranormal investigators for being credulous whilst also identifying elements of the case as being indicative of a hoax.

Rashtriya Military School Chail is a residential school in Himachal Pradesh, India, established after the First World War in 1922 with a donation of ₹250,000 from King George V’s patriotic fund. The school's origins lie with the establishment of King George's Royal Indian Military School in Jullunder, Punjab, in 1925. The foundation stone of this school was laid in the Jullunder Cantonment by King George V in February 1922, and the school started functioning in 1925. The school was moved to its present location in Chail, Himachal Pradesh, in 1960. Cadets are known as Georgians after their founder's father.

The Beas River disaster refers to the 8 June 2014 drowning of 24 second-year engineering students and one tour operator from V.N.R. Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology of Hyderabad at the Beas River in Himachal Pradesh. The accident took place in the Thalout area of Mandi district and was the result of a sudden surge of river water released upstream from the Larji hydro electric project.

Ae Kaash Ke Hum is a 2020 Indian romantic film directed by Vishal Mishra. The film stars Vivaan Shah, Priya Singh and Sophia Singh in the lead roles. The film revolves around campus friendship and romance of three youngsters and has a very authentic nostalgic feel of 90's. The film was shot in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh in 2019. The film was earlier titled as, Abhi Na Jao Chhod Kar.
