The Mount Magnet Leader and Youanmi Miner, originally known as the Murchison Magnet from January to October 1935, [1] [2] was a newspaper published in the mining community of Mount Magnet, Western Australia from 1935 until 1947. Originally published by P.E. Hayter, [1] [3] from December 1937 it was under the ownership of the Telegraph Printing and Publishing Co. Ltd. [3] [4] [5] [6]

Michael Francis "Frank" Troy was an Australian politician who served in the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia from 1904 to 1939. A member of the Labor Party, he was the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly from 1911 to 1917, the first from that party to hold the position. Later in his career, Troy spent long periods as a frontbencher, serving as a minister in the first and second Collier governments, and then in the Willcock government. After leaving parliament, he served as Agent-General for Western Australia from 1939 to 1947.

The Pingelly Leader was a newspaper published in Pingelly from 1906 until 1925. The newspaper was launched by John Mackay, who was previously proprietor and editor of the Wagin Argus and had started the Great Southern Leader of Narrogin, under the management of James Henry Greive. It was originally printed at Wagin for its first few issues but was later issued from Pingelly starting 31 August 1906. The paper changed its name and served a larger area beginning 8 October 1925, becoming the Pingelly-Brookton Leader.
