The Music Network (TMN) is an Australian music magazine launched as a in 1994 by John Woodruff. It was printed weekly until March 2013, when it went fully online. In 2017 it was acquired by Jake Challenor, who served as its publisher and editor. In February 2022 The Music Network was acquired by The Brag Media, with Poppy Reid serving as editor-in-chief.
The Music Network was founded by John Woodruff [1] [2] in May 1994, [3] initially as a paper-based publication for the Australian music industry. [1] This included record labels, media networks, music and DVD retailers, radio and television programmers and music directors, sales representatives, artist managers, music publishers and concert promoters. [1] In January 2009, the magazine was sold to the music marketing and publishing group Peer Group Media, which is under the ownership of Adam Zammit, who replaced Woodruff as the new owner of The Music Network. In 2009 the magazine was sold to Peer Group Media, owned by Adam Zammit. [3] After the sale, its website re-launched on 8 June 2009, with a new design, logo and layout, [1] under managing editor Jade Harley. [3] In March 2009, former Future Entertainment general manager Jade Harley, became the magazine's new managing editor. [5] In September of that year it was publishing the "TopSwaps" chart, which monitored the number of songs downloaded from file-sharing sites each week. [6]
TMN printed a total of 927 issues before the magazine ceasing to print their weekly magazine in March 2013, going fully online. However owners Peer Group Media continued to print Sydney street magazine The Brag at that time. [3]
In 2017, TMN was acquired by Jake Challenor, who served as its publisher and editor. [7]
In 2019 The Music Network began operating the "TMN Country Hot 50" chart in co-operation with Radio Monitor. The chart included airplay data and published a new chart every Friday morning. This replaced the previous "TMN Country Airplay Chart", and is "the most comprehensive country airplay chart in the history of Australian radio". [8]
In February 2022, The Brag Media purchased TMN, with Challenor joining The Brag Media as executive editor, B2B. [2] In February 2023 Challenor departed Brag and set up a new PR agency, Sound Story. [9]
As of 2023 [update] The Music Network is published by The Brag Media, with Poppy Reid serving as editor-in-chief of the whole group. [10] [11]
The Music Network features the latest music news, radio airplay charts and statistics, music sales data for both physical and digital releases, tour and live event information, interviews with local and international artists, as well as information on new singles released to Australian radio, retail and other media outlets. [12] It includes news, interviews, employment opportunities, [11] future trends, and opinion pieces. [10]

Billboard Radio Monitor was a weekly music trade publication that followed the radio industry and tracked the monitoring of current songs by format, station and audience cumes. The magazine was a spinoff of Billboard magazine and was mostly available through subscription to people who work in the radio industry as well as music chart enthusiasts. It was developed in Columbia, Maryland, initially by Alan Smith and Jonas Cash, principals of the music company called AIR. AIR created music listening competitions for radio programmers in five different musical genres and were looking for a "qualifier" for the contests. The contests involved testing new songs' potential by having radio programmers listen to and respond to each song's hit potential using a national chart as the qualifier. After using Radio and Records chart for the first 10 years of the competition, AIR developed the BAM, and went into partnership with Billboard Magazine to produce and market the magazine. As members of the Board of Directors, the AIR principals continued to improve its features over the next eight years under the new name of Billboard Radio Monitor.

"Little Things" is a song by English-Irish boy band One Direction from their second studio album, Take Me Home (2012). It was released by Syco Music on 12 November 2012 as the record's second single. The song was written by Fiona Bevan and Ed Sheeran, and produced by Jake Gosling. Bevan brought the song to Sheeran's attention while he was in studio with the group in 2012, resulting in the band recording it. "Little Things" is a mid-tempo pop and folk ballad about the insistence that flaws are what make a person unique.
Lime Cordiale are an Australian pop rock group formed in 2009. It consists of brothers Oli and Louis Leimbach, with additional members James Jennings, Felix Bornholt and Nicholas Polovineo. They released their debut studio album Permanent Vacation in 2017. The group have performed at Groovin' the Moo and South by Southwest (SXSW). At the 2020 ARIA Music Awards they were nominated in eight categories and won Breakthrough Artist – Release for their second album, 14 Steps to a Better You.

Anthony Austin O'Grady was an Australian writer, music journalist, editor and producer. He created and edited Rock Australia Magazine from 1975 to 1981. He wrote articles for The Bulletin. In 1994 O'Grady co-created the Music Network. For 15 years he was an oral history interviewer for National Film and Sound Archive (NFSA). O'Grady authored the 2001 biography Cold Chisel: The Pure Stuff detailing the Australian band Cold Chisel.
Music magazines have been published in Australia since the 1950s. They peaked in popularity during the 1970s and '80s, but currently, there are still several national titles, including local editions of Rolling Stone and the classical music-focused Limelight, among others.
