The Noble Rot received favourable reviews. Dawn Brown of Metal Wani gave it a rating of 8/10, commenting that "while this album very much follows the general nature and disposition of Powerman 5000, it’s really not a metal album. It walks a fine line between industrial and electronica. However, the lyrics are offbeat, eccentric, and expertly crafted for the songs therein. ‘The Noble Rot’ is a must-listen if you're a fan of Powerman 5000 or the fantastic camp of a B-movie." Jeannie Blue of Cryptic Rock gave it 5/5 stars. She noted that "despite a plethora of lineup changes that have left Spider as the last original man standing, eight additional records have followed over the past 21 years, including 2001’s Anyone for Doomsday? , 2006’s Destroy What You Enjoy , and 2017’s New Wave . But nothing can keep a good band down." [2]
Industrial rock is a fusion genre that fuses industrial music and rock music. It initially originated in the 1970s, and drew influence from early experimental and industrial acts such as Throbbing Gristle, Einstürzende Neubauten and Chrome. Powerman 5000 is an American rock band formed in 1991. Frontman Spider One, younger brother of fellow metal musician Rob Zombie, has been the only consistent member of the lineup since the band's formation.

"When Worlds Collide" is a song by the band Powerman 5000 from their album Tonight the Stars Revolt!. It is one of the band's most well-known songs and has been used in the video games Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, WWE Smackdown! vs. Raw, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 in addition to the 2000 film Little Nicky. The song had been nominated by the Boston Music Awards in 2000 for "Single Of The Year". Spider One has stated that the song is about social classes. In 2016, the band accused Square Enix of stealing the song for use in their popular MMO Final Fantasy XIV.
Somewhere on the Other Side of Nowhere is the sixth studio album by Powerman 5000 returning to their more traditional industrial metal sound, following their punk rock oriented 2006 album Destroy What You Enjoy. The album was released in the US on October 6, 2009 and in Canada on October 20. The album sold around 2,000 copies in its first week of release. The digital single for "Super Villain" has scanned around 15,000 paid downloads.
Builders of the Future is the eighth studio album by American rock band Powerman 5000. Produced by Evan Rodaniche, Spider One and Nick Quijano, it was released on May 27, 2014, and is the first composition that the band released through T-Boy Records and Universal Music Enterprises. The album became available for preorder starting March 25, 2014. The album sold around 4,200 copies in its first week of release, while debuting at position No. 63 on the Billboard 200 chart.
