The Now is an American comedy series, directed by Peter and Bobby Farrelly. It stars Dave Franco, O'Shea Jackson Jr., Daryl Hannah and Jimmy Tatro. It was originally set to debut in 2020 on Quibi, but it moved to The Roku Channel due to Quibi's shutdown in December 2020. [1] It premiered on The Roku Channel on December 10, 2021. [2]

Production

Development

In July 2019, it was announced Peter Farrelly would direct the series, from a screenplay by Farrelly, Steve Laff and Pete Jones, with Anonymous Content producing the series for Quibi. [4] In October 2019, Bobby Farrelly was announced to co-direct the series. [5]

Casting

In October 2019, Dave Franco joined the cast of the series. [6] In November 2019, O'Shea Jackson Jr., Daryl Hannah, Jimmy Tatro joined the cast as series regulars, while Alyssa Milano, Lex Scott Davis, Rob Yang, and Bill Murray joined in recurring capacity. [7] [8]

Release

On October 21, 2020, it was announced that Quibi would be shutting down all operations, leaving the series' release in question. [9] On October 29, 2020, it was announced that development of the series would move to The Roku Channel. [10] The series premiered on The Roku Channel on December 10, 2021. [2]

The series was set to premiere on the short-form mobile video platform Quibi and would have been only available to watch after sunset. Most Dangerous Game is an American action series created by Nick Santora, Josh Harmon, and Scott Elder that debuted on Quibi on April 6, 2020. It is inspired by the 1924 short story "The Most Dangerous Game" by Richard Connell. On May 20, 2021, the series was released on the Roku Channel. On August 23, 2021, it was renewed for a second season on the Roku Channel. In May 2022, Amazon Prime Video started streaming a compiled version of the first season episodes as a 2 hour, 7 minute feature film. On March 10, 2023 the second season premiered, consisting of 12 episodes. In September 2023, The Roku Channel removed the series.

Mapleworth Murders is an American comedy-mystery series created and written by Paula Pell and John Lutz, who also star alongside J. B. Smoove and Hayley Magnus. It was directed by Claire Scanlon. Lorne Michaels and Seth Meyers serve as executive producers. It premiered on August 10, 2020, on Quibi. In 2023, the 12 episodes began streaming on The Roku Channel.

Die Hart is an American comedy action-adventure television series which premiered on the streaming service Quibi on July 20, 2020. The series stars Kevin Hart as a fictionalized version of himself, with John Travolta, Nathalie Emmanuel and Josh Hartnett playing supporting roles in the first season.
