The Orobians are a ska band founded during 1997 in Bergamo, Italy and still based in Bergamo. [1] They play ska and rocksteady standards (mostly instrumental) with a modern jazz twist. [2]
The name comes from the Orobian Alps, a mountain range located between the provinces of Bergamo and Sondrio.
From their start in 1997 the band modeled themselves on The Skatalites. [1]
They released their first album in November 2000 [3] and in December 2000 they reached number one in the Popolare Network chart, the most important independent radio chart in Italy. [4]
They perform regularly in Italy, France and Eastern Europe and have opened for The Trojans, The Skatalites and Manu Chao. [4]
Their recordings have been used as theme tunes for programs on both Rai 2 and Rai 3. [4]
In 2001 they became a nonprofit cultural association whose aim is to spread Jamaican music. [4]
The line-up has varied over the years but is usually nine members playing five brass instruments, piano, guitar, contrabass and drums. [1] [4] There is sometimes a singer. [1] [4]

Let's Go Bowling is an American third wave ska band hailing from Fresno, California. Since the band's inception in the year 1986, the band's traditional ska style, barbershop harmonies, wisely crafted instrumentals, and its frantic live performances, helped set the standard for dress and culture for West Coast Ska, which in turn, set the groundwork for the Third Wave Movement in 1995.
The Abnuceals Emuukha Electric Symphony Orchestra was a group of Hollywood session musicians organized by Frank Zappa in 1967 to record music for his first solo album Lumpy Gravy. Some of these musicians are thought to have worked together in various combinations under the leadership of Ken Shroyer as far back as 1959. However, it was Zappa who gave them the name several years later.
Sacred is the Los Lonely Boys' fourth album and their second studio set, released on July 18, 2006. The original title of the album, as shown on the "Diamonds" single printed materials was to be "Òralé". The band hews to a more traditional ska-reggae sound while many others working in the genre morphed into a more punk variety.
Chucklehead is an American funk band from Boston, Massachusetts. Formed in 1988, the band reached the height of their popularity in the mid-1990s through constant touring and their lavish theme-based live shows. Chucklehead disbanded in 1997 following the release of their final album Belly Up. After a 17-year hiatus the band reunited in 2013 for several performances.
Stone, Brick, Glass, Wood, Wire is a double live album by English guitarist, composer and improvisor Fred Frith. It comprises a series of graphic scores Frith composed in 1992 "for any number of players". It was performed live by Frith, Ikue Mori, Zeena Parkins and the International Occasional Ensemble at five concerts in Canada, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands and Germany. Frith also conducted and directed the performances.

The Spatial AKA Orchestra is a music ensemble led by Jerry Dammers of The Specials, an English 2 Tone ska band popular in the late 1970s. Dammers formed the orchestra in 2006 as a tribute to American jazz musician Sun Ra, though it grew to include other genres such as reggae, funk, and classical music.
Chameleon is a 1974 big band jazz album by Canadian jazz trumpeter Maynard Ferguson. It features cover versions of many songs that were popular in the years leading up to its production, including: "Jet" by Paul McCartney and Wings, "The Way We Were" – which was popularized by Barbra Streisand, and "Livin' for the City" by Stevie Wonder. Compared to their earlier work, it features a substantial progressive rock influence. Different editions of the album carry different fruit symbols on the front cover.

São Paulo Ska Jazz is a Brazilian ska-jazz band formed by musicians of the pop and jazz scene in São Paulo. It was created between the years of 2007 and 2008 by Marcelo Calderazzo.
The Upbeat is a band formed in 1985 in the small beach-side community of Carpinteria, California. Heavily influenced by the 2 Tone Ska of the late 70s and early 80s, the group was formed by Eric "Scaric" Vallen, Brandon "Hossinn" Seider, Mike "Oreo" Organista, Grant "Saxpa" Cox (saxophone), Mike "Pussard" Honeyman (trumpet), Chaska "The Weasel" Slawson (drums), and Mark "Sparky" Gonzales. 2011 saw the introduction of new members, ska/reggae/rocksteady legends Zac Pike and Dan Boer (keys), from the bands Sandollar Sounds and Dynamic Pressure, as well as Brian "Polar Bear" LeBlanc (drums), from Santa Barbara's Civil Unrest and Makai. Their members Dan Boer and Zac Pike created music for Cartoon Network's Chowder.
