Sodom is a German thrash metal band from Gelsenkirchen, formed in 1981. They have gone through many lineup changes, leaving bassist/vocalist Tom Angelripper as the only constant member. The band is currently composed of Angelripper, guitarists Frank "Blackfire" Gosdzik and Yorck Segatz, and drummer Toni Merkel. Along with Kreator, Destruction and Tankard, Sodom has been referred to as one of the "Big Four" of Teutonic thrash metal. Sodom heavily influenced the German black metal scene. In addition, the band is regarded as a pioneer of early death metal. Mike McPadden wrote that the most Venom-blackened of German "Three Kings", Sodom further merged thrash and death metal into a wicked and decadent sound.

Doomsday for the Deceiver is the debut album by Flotsam and Jetsam. It was released on July 4, 1986, on a budget of $12,000, and recorded in two weeks. It is the only album by Flotsam and Jetsam with Jason Newsted before his departure for Metallica. Most lyrics were written by Newsted; his songwriting contributions also appeared on the band's next album No Place for Disgrace (1988) and their 2012 album Ugly Noise.

ZooL is a defunct Swedish band that was created by guitarist Henrik Flyman as a platform for classic hard rock. ZooL released one album 2002 and has not been heard of since, though it was never officially declared extinct. Flyman himself is today active in Evil Masquerade. Daniel Flores returned to Flyman's side 2008 on Evil Masquerade's fourth studio album Fade To Black.

Moahni Moahna is a Swedish band that was created in the early 1990s by guitarist Henrik Flyman and guitarist Tommy Rehn. They wrote and performed their own brand of hard rock/heavy metal that was described as "Fantasy Metal". The band started as a two piece formation with hired session musicians, but they soon added vocalist Martin Häggström as a steady member.
