The Racist Mind: Portraits of American Neo-Nazis and Klansmen is a book by Raphael S. Ezekiel. [1] It attempts to provide sociological and psychological insights into White supremacist groups, including neo-Nazi groups and the Ku Klux Klan, and their members.
The book is divided into three parts: "Gatherings" (relating the author's attendance at rallies, trials, and congresses), "National Leaders" (Tom Metzger, Dave Holland, and Richard Butler), and "Detroit" (portraits of the members of a neo-Nazi group).
It was published by Viking Press in 1995 (hardcover, 368 pages, ISBN 0-670-83958-2); it was reprinted in paperback by Penguin in 1996 ( ISBN 0-14-023449-7).

The American Nazi Party (ANP) is an American far-right and neo-Nazi political party founded by George Lincoln Rockwell and headquartered in Arlington, Virginia. It was based in Warsaw, Indiana, and it was also incorporated as a business. In 1993, the group expanded into Canada.
Richard Girnt Butler was an American engineer, and white neo-Nazi. After dedicating himself to the Christian Identity movement, a racist offshoot of British Israelism, Butler founded the National Socialist Aryan Nations and would become the "spiritual godfather" to the white separatist movement, in which he was a leading figure. He has been described as a "notorious racist".
The Greensboro massacre was a deadly confrontation which occurred on November 3, 1979, in Greensboro, North Carolina, US, when members of the Ku Klux Klan and the American Nazi Party (ANP) shot and killed five participants in a "Death to the Klan" march which was organized by the Communist Workers Party (CWP).

He was a Grand Dragon of the Ku Klux Klan in the 1970s. Metzger voiced strong opposition to immigration to the United States, and was an advocate of the Third Position. He was incarcerated in Los Angeles County, California, and Toronto, Ontario, and was the subject of several lawsuits and government inquiries. He, his son, and WAR were fined a total of $12.5 million as a result of the murder of Mulugeta Seraw, 28, an Ethiopian student, by skinheads in Portland, Oregon, affiliated with WAR.
