A slasher film is a subgenre of horror films involving a killer stalking and murdering a group of people, usually by use of bladed or sharp tools such as knives, chainsaws, scalpels, etc. Although the term "slasher" may occasionally be used informally as a generic term for any horror film involving murder, film analysts cite an established set of characteristics which set slasher films apart from other horror subgenres, such as monster movies, splatter films, supernatural and psychological horror films.

In 2013 the thriller Ferocious, Amanda Crew and Kim Coates was released. Walk All Over Me starring Leelee Sobieski and Tricia Helfer premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2008;. Carolyn is also a member of the Producers Guild of America and the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television.
The House of the Devil is a 2009 American horror film written, directed, and edited by Ti West, starring Jocelin Donahue, Tom Noonan, Mary Woronov, Greta Gerwig, A. J. Bowen, and Dee Wallace.
Green Room is a 2015 American horror-thriller film written and directed by Jeremy Saulnier, and produced by Neil Kopp, Victor Moyers and Anish Savjani. Starring Anton Yelchin, Imogen Poots, Alia Shawkat, Joe Cole, Callum Turner and Patrick Stewart, the film focuses on a punk band who find themselves attacked by neo-Nazi skinheads after witnessing a murder at a remote club in the Pacific Northwest. The film came from Saulnier's desire to direct a thriller set in a green room.

It tells the story of the violent history of Charlie's Farm, brutally brought to life when four horror seeking youths stumble across a legend that refuses to die. The film stars Tara Reid, Nathan Jones, Allira Jaques, Bill Moseley, Kane Hodder, Dean Kirkright, and Sam Coward.
All Saints Eve is a horror film directed by Gerry Lively. The film stars Sean Whalen, Marc Macaulay, Katrina Darrell and Bingo O'Malley. It also stars Nick LaMantia and Mere Davis. The film's writer and producer was Elizabeth Rossi.
Slasher is an anthology horror television series created by Aaron Martin. It premiered on Chiller on March 4, 2016, and on Super Channel on April 1, 2016. The licensing rights for the second season were acquired by Netflix in January 2017. The second season was released on October 17, 2017. On August 8, 2018, the series was renewed for a third season, which premiered on May 23, 2019. An eight-episode fourth season was ordered for Shudder, premiering on August 12, 2021. On February 10, 2022, the series was renewed for a fifth season, which premiered on April 6, 2023.

Pretend We're Kissing is a 2014 Canadian romantic comedy drama film written and directed by Matt Sadowski and starring Dov Tiefenbach, Tommie-Amber Pirie and Zoë Kravitz.
Out is a 2013 Canadian comedy-drama short film, directed by Jeremy LaLonde. The film stars David Tompa as Geoff, a young man whose family expects him to come out as gay when he announces that he has something to tell them, only for him to surprise them by actually coming out as a vampire.
Wreck is a British comedy horror television series, created and written by Ryan J. Brown. It stars Oscar Kennedy as Jamie, a young man who takes a job on board a cruise ship in order to investigate the disappearance of his sister. It premiered on BBC Three on 9 October 2022, with all episodes airing on BBC iPlayer on the same day. The series received mixed reviews, but was received favourably by the LGBTQ+ press with Attitude, Gay Times and The Queer Review featuring the series on their lists of Top LGBT TV Shows of 2022.
