Andrew Patterson is set to write and direct with funding from Black Bear Pictures and production from Heyday Films. Producers are David Heyman, Teddy Schwarzman, Michael Heimler, Jeffrey Clifford, Will Greenfield and Patterson. [5]

In July 2023, it was reported that Kurt Russell was cast in the film. [6] [7] The cast also includes Rob Morgan, Scott Shepherd, Cole Sprouse, Owen Teague, Tony Revolori, Jake Horowitz and Angelina LookingGlass. [8]

Filming occurred in Alabama during the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike in which SAG-AFTRA granted the filmmakers an interim agreement to allow principal photography to occur during the strike. [9]

In August 2023, it was announced that filming wrapped in Alabama. [10] [11]

Dallas Buyers Club is a 2013 American biographical drama film written by Craig Borten and Melisa Wallack, and directed by Jean-Marc Vallée. The film tells the story of Ron Woodroof, a cowboy diagnosed with AIDS in the mid-1980s, a time when both the etiology and the treatment of HIV/AIDS are poorly understood and its sufferers subject to stigmatization. It is an adaptation of the Stephen King novella published in the 2020 collection If It Bleeds. Tom Hiddleston plays as the titular Chuck, and co-stars Mark Hamill, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Karen Gillan, and Jacob Tremblay.
