The Secret of the Submarine is a 1915 American adventure film serial directed by George L. Sargent. It was 15 chapters and all of them are considered to be lost. [1]
The heroes must keep the titular submarine from falling into the hands of the Russians or Japanese.
Secret of the submarine was written in the lead up to the United States' involvement in World War I by war correspondent Richard Barry. [2] The serial was released 15 days after the Lusitania was torpedoed by a German sub.

Juanita Hansen was an American actress who performed in silent films. She became one of the Sennett Bathing Beauties and appeared in a variety of serials through the late 1910s. She was well known for her troubled personal life and struggle with addiction to cocaine and morphine. In 1934, she became clean and traveled lecturing on the dangers of drugs. She wrote a book about addiction and started her own charity to help raise awareness about drug abuse.
