The Self-Esteem Team is a British organisation which delivers workshops in schools and colleges on mental health, LGBT, body image and exam stress. It was formed in 2014 by Nadia Mendoza, Grace Barrett, and Natasha Devon.
Nadia Mendoza is a journalist. She began her career at The Sun and became Digital Head of Showbiz and TV at Daily Star . She was raised in London before moving to Los Angeles while working for Mail Online. Mendoza has written about her experiences with self-harm [2] and her mother's illness Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. [3] In 2019, she campaigned to the Royal College of General Practitioners to include PSP on their curriculum for trainee GPs and it was successfully added to the syllabus. [4]
In December 2021, it was announced that Mendoza would be releasing her debut novel called Friends Don't Tell. [5] The YA thriller will be released in June 2022. World rights were acquired from Chloe Seager at Madeleine Milburn Agency by Polly Lyall Grant, Senior Commissioning Editor at Hachette Children’s Group.
Grace Barrett is a backing singer who has toured with artists Brother, Little Boots, and Deaf Havana. She was raised in Stoke-on-Trent in Staffordshire. In August 2021, she resigned from The Self-Esteem Team. She co-authored Friends Don't Tell.
Natasha Devon is a writer and TV pundit. In August 2015, she became the British government's first Mental Health Champion. [6] In April 2016, the role was rendered obsolete. [7] In July 2017, she resigned from The Self-Esteem Team.
The group's Switch On The Light campaign, which was released for Mental Health Week 2015, featured Stephen Fry, Professor Green, Clarke Carlisle, and Charlie McConnell. It is dedicated to James Mabbett, [8] who took his own life aged 24.
Their follow-up campaign, New Years ReVolution, released in December 2015, featured Charlotte Crosby, Rachel Riley, Jamal Edwards, and Michelle Lewin. [9]
In 2014, The Self-Esteem Team won a Body Confidence Award from the All-Party Parliamentary Group for their work in education. [10] [11]
The Self-Esteem Team released their book The Self-Esteem Team's Guide to… Sex, Drugs & WTFs?!! in 2015, with a foreword by Zoella. The book is on The Reading Agency's Reading Well Books on Prescription scheme. [12]
Body image is a person's thoughts, feelings and perception of the aesthetics or sexual attractiveness of their own body. KELY Support Group is a non-governmental bilingual organisation in Hong Kong which aims to provide support to youth between the ages of 14 and 24. Its programmes and services focus on prevention and intervention of alcoholism and other drug abuse, and are designed to tackle what the group regards as the common reasons for abuse such as boredom, peer pressure, lack of self-awareness, low self-esteem, poverty, unemployment and discrimination.

Body Gossip is an organisation founded in 2006 and run by Ruth Rogers and Natasha Devon which campaigns on body image issues, regardless of shape, size, race, gender or age. Body Gossip's Gossip School body image education programme won the 2011-12 'Business hero - Heroic SME' award. Between them, Body Gossip and The Self-Esteem Team, also founded by Devon, visit three schools each week and have provided classes to over 50,000 teenagers; they also provide sessions for parents and teachers.

Her writing focuses on self-image, and topics range from body hair to rape culture. Baker founded the Body Love Conference, which held regional conferences in Arizona in 2014 and 2015.
Yazda: Global Yazidi Organization, is a United States-based global Yazidi nonprofit, non-governmental organization (NGO) advocacy, aid, and relief organization. Yazda was established to support the Yazidi, especially in northern Iraq, specifically Sinjar and Nineveh Plain, and northeastern Syria, where the Yazidi community has, as part of a deliberate "military, economic, and political strategy," been the focus of a genocidal campaign by ISIL that included mass murder, the separation of families, forced religious conversions, forced marriages, sexual assault, physical assault, torture, kidnapping, and slavery.
Natasha Jade Devon is a writer, campaigner and broadcaster. She has visited schools and colleges in the United Kingdom and elsewhere, including in Bangkok, The Hague, Shanghai, Kathmandu, Montreux and Taipei, delivering classes and conducting research with teenagers, teachers and parents on mental health, body image and social equality. She has also taken part in campus wellbeing programmes in British universities including Aberystwyth University and City, University of London, and is a trustee for the student mental health charity Student Minds.
Reading Well Books on Prescription is a scheme in England to encourage people to manage their health and well-being by reading self-help books. The scheme was launched in 2013 by the charity The Reading Agency and the Society of Chief Librarians with funding from Arts Council England. The scheme initially provided reading lists for common mental health conditions, but extended this offer to include reading lists for mood-busting books, dementia, young people, and long term conditions.

Proponents focus on the appreciation of the functionality and health of the human body, instead of its physiological appearance.
Fight the New Drug (FTND) is a nonprofit, secular, and non-legislative anti-pornography organization that is based in Utah. The group was founded in Utah in 2009. FTND describes pornography as analogous to a drug and argues that it is a public health crisis. Fight the New Drug does not push for anti-pornography legislation. Instead, it seeks to educate people on the harms and risks of pornography, and to help people "consider before consuming" - one of their mantras.
