The Shirehorses were a spoof band comprising two BBC Radio DJs from Manchester, Mark Radcliffe and Marc Riley, known collectively as Mark and Lard.

He was formerly of the early 1990s indie band She Talks to Angels, is a key musician in the Willkommen Collective, and is currently the lead singer for The Leisure Society. Hemming also plays banjo and mandolin with Sons of Noel and Adrian and with Shoreline.
Radcliffe & Maconie is a weekend radio programme broadcast on BBC Radio 6 Music in the United Kingdom and via the internet. It runs from 8-10 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and is presented by Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie. The show originally ran on BBC Radio 2 from 16 April 2007 until 23 March 2011, where it was known as The Radcliffe and Maconie Show. Originally broadcast on weekday afternoons, the current 6 Music show broadcasts from the BBC's MediaCityUK in Salford, Greater Manchester. The duo celebrated the 10th anniversary of the show and broadcasting together on 17 April 2017. The show moved to the weekend breakfast slot in January 2019.
Brigadier Ambrose are an alternative pop band from Chatham, England. After releasing a series of digital only singles, playing various festivals, and recording sessions for BBC Radio One at Maida Vale, the band released their debut and only album to date Fuzzo in early 2010 through their own Brigadier Records. Fuzzo was entered into the Mercury Music Prize for 2010 but not short-listed. The band were then inactive for several years, until regrouping in early 2015, with the single "Jambon Dandy" released in June 2015.

The Voluntary Butler Scheme(VBS) is the stage name for one-man band Rob Jones, based in Stourbridge near Birmingham. Jones records and produces the majority of his material by himself in a home studio in his bedroom. The VBS uses the technique of live looping at gigs, playing in parts on various instruments, such as a guitar, a guitar synthesizer, drums, a kazoo and a ukulele.

Alongside his solo work, he has also played with many other artists, including Gruff Rhys, Cate Le Bon, Euros Childs, Piney Gir and Slow Club. He is bilingual in Welsh and English but usually sings in English.

Many of the artists featured were first introduced by English radio personality and television presenter, Dermot O'Leary. It hit Number 3 in the UK iTunes charts the week of its release.
