The Stepkids' music is a fusion of jazz, 1960s folk, neo and classic soul, classic funk, psychedelia and 20th century classical.
In October 2010, the band was signed to Stones Throw Records. [1]
In Fall 2011, the band went on tour with The Horrors. [2]
On September 27, 2011, the band released their debut album, The Stepkids . Mojo placed the album at number 25 on its list of "Top 50 albums of 2011." [3] SPIN also placed the album at number 19 on the list "20 Best R&B albums of 2011”. [4]
On October 4, 2011, the band released a music video for “Legend in My Own Mind”, starring Wyatt Cenac, and Kurt Braunholer and directed by Tom Scharpling. [5]
In 2011, the band performed at the South by Southwest [6] [7] festival in Austin, Texas, CMJ Music Marathon [8] [9] in New York City, and the Big Chill Festival in Ledbury, England. [10] In 2012, the band performed at the Sydney Festival in Sydney, Australia. [11]
Bassist/Vocalist Dan Edinberg was formerly the bassist of ZOX. Guitarist/Vocalist Jeff Gitelman was formerly the touring guitarist for Alicia Keys.
Having spent most of 2012 touring with Kimbra, Mayer Hawthorne & The County, Grace Potter & the Nocturnals, and Mates of State, along with tours of Australia and Europe, the Connecticut trio was busy finalizing the details for their second album,Troubadour released September 10, 2013. This follow up to their critically praised self-titled 2011 debut included both "Sweet Salvation" and "Bitter Bug", which were released on the "Sweet Salvation EP" in October 2012.

Eisley is an American rock band from Tyler, Texas, originally consisting of siblings Sherri DuPree, Chauntelle DuPree, Stacy DuPree and Weston DuPree. Remaining recording/touring members are their sister Sherri DuPree-Bemis and their cousin Garron DuPree. Their name was inspired by the Star Wars saga. Since forming, the band has released five studio albums: Room Noises (2005), Combinations (2007), The Valley (2011), Currents (2013), and I'm Only Dreaming (2017) along with numerous EPs. Eisley has recorded videos for "Marvelous Things", "I Wasn't Prepared", "Telescope Eyes", "Invasion", "Memories", "Smarter", "The Valley" and "Currents".
Thomas John Giuliano II, known professionally as Tom Scharpling, is an American comedian, television writer, producer, music video director, voice actor, and radio host. He is best known for hosting the weekly Internet radio call-in comedy program The Best Show with Tom Scharpling, the voice of Greg Universe in the animated series Steven Universe and its sequel series Steven Universe Future, and for acting as a writer/executive producer for the TV show Monk.
The Presets are an Australian electronic music duo of Julian Hamilton and Kim Moyes. The Lovely Sparrows is an Austin, Texas based indie rock band currently on Abandoned Love Records and founded by Shawn Jones. Their sound is categorized as indie rock, folk rock, experimental rock, alternative rock, or just rock, blending lush, complex arrangements with sing-along choruses that bring to mind folk-inflected pop and well-written novellas. Pulling Up Floors, Pouring on (New) Paint, released in 2006, captures the gorgeous melodies and warm, organic maladies of front man Shawn Jones. The September 2008 release saw the band embark on its most extensive touring to date, which included CMJ Music Marathon, Pop Montreal and South by Southwest in Austin, Texas. The Lovely Sparrows premiered the music video directed and animated by Eric Power of Clear Productions for "Year of the Dog" off Bury the Cynic during the 2009 SXSW Music Festival in Austin, Texas. The video was honored as one of the 25 best music videos of the year 2008 by MusicForants.com. Bury the Cynics was on the best of list by Fensepost, The Bomb Shelter (#11), the Austinist (#5), Side One: Track One v1 (#7) and Side One: Track One v2 (#1).

Simian Ghost is an alternative music group from Sandviken/Gävle, Sweden, consisting of Sebastian Arnström, Erik Klinga, Mathias Zachrisson and Wilhelm Magnusson. It was initiated as a recording project by Sebastian Arnström. He released one full-length album, Infinite Traffic Everywhere, which was received with blog praise and excellent reviews. It topped the critics chart in Sweden and was voted record of the year by the readers at Dagensskiva.se. Six months after the release of said record he released a 7-song EP called Lovelorn.

The Narrative is an American independent indie rock band from Long Island, New York, formed in 2008. They are currently based in Nashville, Tennessee. Since 2011, the band has consisted of Suzie Zeldin and Jesse Gabriel. Previously, the group featured the drummer Charlie Seich. The group started its musical career with their debut EP Just Say Yes, released in 2008, where "Eyes Closed" stands out as the most popular song with more than four million views on YouTube. Its debut album The Narrative was released in 2010. As well the group release two supporting tour-EP, Nothing Without You in 2010 and Kickstarter in 2011. A follow-up EP b-side compilation album, B-Sides and Seasides was released online in 2012. The Narrative released its second studio album, Golden Silence, on December 2, 2016.

Hundred Waters is an American band formed in Gainesville, Florida in October 2011, composed of Nicole Miglis, Trayer Tryon and Zach Tetreault. The group came to prominence in 2012 with the release of their first self-titled album and an unexpected partnership with Skrillex's predominantly electronic Owsla record label. Hundred Waters wrote and produced most of their second album, The Moon Rang Like a Bell, while on tour with alt-J, The xx, Julia Holter and others; it was released on May 27, 2014.
Jeff Gitelman is a record producer, musician and songwriter from Chișinău, Moldova. He is known for his work with the band The Stepkids, which formed in 2010. He is also known for his composition, production, and instrumentation for J. Cole, H.E.R., Jennifer Lopez, Mac Miller and Anderson .Paak. He was nominated for a Grammy Award for Album of the Year for his work on H.E.R.'s 2019 album I Used to Know Her.
