The Whiles is an American indie rock band, formed in Columbus, Ohio.
The founding members are Joe Peppercorn, Matt Peppercorn, Chris Bolognese, Paul Headley, Jake Remley and Zack Prout. Prout left the band after the release of its 2004 debut album, Colors of the Year. [1]
Columbus Alive has referred to The Whiles as a "mainstay band in Columbus" [2] AllMusic gave Colors of the Year four out of five stars, comparing The Whiles to Nick Drake and Gram Parsons. [3] Blogcritics also observed that the album was "Delicately honest, these songs could break in half if not handled with care. The album is filled with lush orchestrations and whispered lyrics, making it feel very personal to the listener." [4]
Columbus Alive described the band's second album, Sleepers Wake (2007), saying "Melancholy grace was in its marrow. This was delicate but substantial music, the kind that makes you feel like your Honda Civic might float off into the atmosphere along with the song." [1] Sentimentalist Magazine observed, "There are occasional quirky harmony and instrumental touches, but 'Sleepers Wake' emits politeness, dismisses cynics and is ultimately rather unique." [2] [5]
Insound, referring to the band's third album, Somber Honey (2012), noted, "The album recalls hints of Colin Blunstone's finest work, Eric Matthews and the pop sensibilities of Tommy Keene, early Cat Stevens and The Byrds." [6]
The band has released three full-length LPs on the Anyway Records label. Prout left after the release of the debut album, Colors of the Year (2004). After the release of Sleepers Wake (2007), family responsibilities put the band on hold until 2012, when The Whiles released the album, Somber Honey. The Whiles are working on a new album.
The band has opened for national acts, including Andrew Bird, My Morning Jacket and The National. [1]
The song "Song for Jerry" (from Colors of the Year) is featured on the soundtrack for the documentary film Murderball . [7]
Peppercorn served as the open-mic host of The Tree Bar, a music venue in Columbus, from 2008 to 2010. He is a member of the band Watershed and is also known locally for performing the entire Beatles catalog in a single session. [8]
Wild Honey is the 13th studio album by American rock band the Beach Boys, released December 18, 1967 on Capitol Records. It was the group's first foray into soul music and was heavily influenced by the R&B of artists such as Stevie Wonder. The album was the band's worst-selling at that point, charting at number 24 in the US. Lead single "Wild Honey" peaked at number 31, while its follow-up "Darlin'" reached number 19. In the UK, the album peaked at number seven.

Lycia's music is characterized by rich soundscapes and layers of echoed guitars, dark and ethereal keyboards, doomy drum machine beats, VanPortfleet's melancholic, whispered vocals and Vanflower's vivid voice. Trent Reznor and Peter Steele are some of their more well-known fans.
Diamond Rio is an American country music band. The band was founded in 1982 as an attraction for the Opryland USA theme park in Nashville, Tennessee, and was originally known as the Grizzly River Boys, then the Tennessee River Boys. It was founded by Matt Davenport, Danny Gregg, and Ty Herndon, the last of whom became a solo artist in the mid-1990s. After undergoing several membership changes in its initial years, the band has consisted of the same six members since 1989: Marty Roe, Gene Johnson, Jimmy Olander, Brian Prout (drums), Dan Truman (keyboards), and Dana Williams.

Several members of Watershed formed The Dead Schembechlers, a punk band based on the Ohio State-Michigan rivalry. Watershed has appeared on tour with several other bands, including the shock-rap group Insane Clown Posse. Watershed is managed by Thomas O'Keefe, a longtime fan of the band.
House of Heroes are an alternative rock band from Columbus, Ohio. They have released six albums: What You Want Is Now (2003), House of Heroes (2005), The End Is Not the End (2008), Suburba (2010), Cold Hard Want (2012), and Colors (2016). The band also released the album Ten Months (2001) under their original name, No Tagbacks, which had more of a punk sound than their releases as House of Heroes. They also re-released their self-titled record under the name of Say No More (2006). The band was last composed of Tim Skipper, Colin Rigsby, A.J. Babcock, and Eric Newcomer.
Oh, Sleeper is an American metalcore band from Fort Worth, Texas that formed in 2006 with former members of Terminal. In over a decade's span, Oh, Sleeper has released four full-length albums, two EPs, and toured worldwide as an opening act. After independently releasing The Titan EP and traveling in the full Van's Warped Tour 2013, the band went on hiatus to allow clean vocalist and lead guitarist Shane Blay to join As I Lay Dying members in starting California-based metal band Wovenwar. The band's fourth full-length album, Bloodied / Unbowed, was released on July 12, 2019.

Wake the Sleeper is the 21st studio album by the rock band Uriah Heep, released on 2 June 2008 in Europe and on 26 August 2008 in the United States. The announced September 2007 release was rescheduled as a result of the purchase of Sanctuary Records by Universal Music. This was to allow proper promotion of the album, rather than it be 'lost' during the changeover and, although frustrating for them, was something the band members supported. It is their first studio album since 1998's Sonic Origami. It is also their first album since 1980's Conquest without long-time drummer Lee Kerslake, who had to withdraw from the band due to ill health in 2007, putting an end to the band's longest-lasting lineup which existed for 21 years.

The Word Alive is an American metalcore band formed in Phoenix, Arizona, in 2008. The band is signed to Fearless Records since their formation. The band currently consists of vocalist Tyler Smith and guitarist Zack Hansen. The group has had several line-up changes throughout their career, with Hansen as the only remaining founding member. Their second EP, Empire reached No. 15 on the Top Heatseekers, meeting a great amount of positive acclaim upon its release in 2009. The following year, the group recorded and released their debut studio album, Deceiver on August 31, 2010, which reached No. 97 on the Billboard 200 and 15 on Independent Albums.

Twenty One Pilots is an American musical duo from Columbus, Ohio. The band was formed in 2009 by lead vocalist Tyler Joseph along with Nick Thomas and Chris Salih, both of whom left in 2011. Since their departure, the line-up has consisted of Joseph and drummer Josh Dun. The duo is best known for the singles "Stressed Out", "Ride", and "Heathens". The group received a Grammy Award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards for "Stressed Out". The band independently released two albums, Twenty One Pilots (2009) and Regional at Best (2011), before being signed by record label Fueled by Ramen in 2012. Their label debut, Vessel, was released in 2013 and became the second album in history on which every track received at least a gold certification, making Twenty One Pilots the first band in the history of music to see every song on two albums earn gold or platinum awards.
