The Woodlands Marathon is a full-course marathon based in The Woodlands, Texas. The Woodlands Marathon course is USA Track and Field and IAAF certified which makes it a qualifier for the Boston Marathon and is considered one of the top 25 fastest courses in the country. [1]

In 2017, the marathon was cut short due to the course to be incomplete and shortened. The marathon was cut short by 0.8 miles as the lead motorcyclist lead the runners in the wrong direction. [2]

In 2021 the traffic impact made streets close down for the marathon course. [3]

Fidelity Investments was the title sponsor of the race until 2022 when Legacy Capital signed a deal to sponsor the event from 2022-2026. [4]

The Woodlands Marathon uses amateur radio operators to assist with communications throughout the race.

The 2018 New York City Marathon was a marathon race held in New York City, United States, which took place on November 4, 2018. The 2018 Chicago Marathon was the 41st edition of the Chicago Marathon, an annual marathon race that is held in Chicago, Illinois, United States. The race took place on the morning of October 7, 2018 in wet conditions, with a total of 44,584 runners completing. Britain's Mo Farah won the men's race, having gapped second placed Mosinet Geremew towards the end of the race, to take his only World Marathon Major win, in a European record time of 2:05:11. The women's race was won by Kenya's Brigid Kosgei in a personal best time of 2:18:35, nearly three minutes ahead of the next finisher. The men's wheelchair races came down to a sprint finish, which was won by Daniel Romanchuk, with Marcel Hug a second behind, while the women's race was won by Manuela Schär.

The 2019 Berlin Marathon was a marathon race held on 29 September 2019 in Berlin, Germany. It was the 46th edition of the annual Berlin Marathon. The marathon distance is just over 26 miles (42 km) in length and the course is run around the city and starts and finishes in the Tiergarten. The elite men's race was won by Kenenisa Bekele in 2:01:41, two seconds slower than the world record set by Eliud Kipchoge in 2018. The elite women's race was won by Ashete Bekere following a sprint finish in 2:20:14. The wheelchair men's and women's races were won by Marcel Hug and Manuela Schär in 1:28:09 and 1:38:07, respectively.

Elisha Rotich is a Kenyan long-distance runner who specializes in the marathon. Rotich has a personal best in the marathon of 2:04:21, which he set when he won and set the course record at the Paris Marathon in 2021. Rotich also won the 2016 Cannes Marathon des Alpes-Maritimes, the 2017 Chuncheon Chosunilbo Marathon, and the 2018 Eindhoven Marathon.
